“Warm and friendly welcome to a comfortable base in glorious mountain valley”
Reviewed July 4, 2012 for a stay in June 2012

Le Martinet is one of the properties at Les Hirondelles, which forms a high quality trio of well designed and comfortable small gites sharing a secluded and (invariably) sun-filled courtyard. The accommodation is roomy, skilfully decorated and with everything you could want. Above all, the relaxed warmth of Penny and Michael's hospitality made the place a home. They were always there to help with any request or detail about the area. The setting is magnificent in the Rotja valley flanked by the ever-changing perspectives of the magical Canigou mountain range. There are endless things to do in the region but also scores of walks from the door in all directions. A bicycle is available to get to the nearest shop (3kms) but a car is probably necessary to make the most of the stay. We loved the place and will be returning as soon as we can.
