Recommended length of visit: <1 hour
Owner description: The Wine Museum is the oldest winery in the Canary Islands and one of the ten oldest in Spain. The current owners are the fifth generation of a family who bought it from another family in 1880. It's placed in the protected zone of "La Geria" which was covered with lava and ash after the volcanic eruptions from 1730 to 1736. Inside, you will find wine presses, pumps, crushers, stills ... etc., everything from the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century. We invite you on a walk through our vineyard in the heart of la Geria and to taste our Wines. Come and visit our winery, we will be pleased to attend you

“Great "wine" stop-over on way to Playa Blanca”
Reviewed February 3, 2012

We stopped at this winery on way to our villa after a day of visiting attractions in the north of the island. I was particularly interested, as we live in the whisky distillery hub on Speyside, to see the way wine was made in the "old Days". The museum is in the old buildings of the winery (not longer used), and shows the old wine presses, pumps etc.
The tasting afterwards was great, we had a choice of 8 bottles, so had a great time there.
A must for wine lovers!!

“Interesting”
Reviewed November 13, 2011

This is an interesting museum of how wine was produced in a bodega. There is the equipment to press the grapes, the container and route the grape juice took from the press, the cellars to store it, equipment for putting the wine in bottles and a workshop for making and repairing barrels. There are vines growing in the lava soil outside the bodega. After touring the bodega there is an opportunity to have a taste of the wine and to buy bottles of it.

“Fabulous wine tasting”
Reviewed November 8, 2011

We went to this Bodega after visiting the volcano, it was my birthday so was very special. We tasted five different wines with cheese and biscuits and had a wonderful time. One not to be missed when visiting the wine region.
