I reviewed this place last year, went again last week and loved it again. We had the 5 course menu, still 25 Euros. Spring salad with warm prawns, nuts fruits leaves and a delicious raspberry dressing. Fish soup with fideao noodles and oregano foam. Fish course was cod with sobressada sauce, then suckling pig on olive and black truffle mash. Pudding same as last visit, Catalan Custard which is like a citrusy creme brulee on a ginger base, with peach ice cream on white chocolate paste. Utterly delicious and beautifully presented. Going a la carte would be a lot dearer but with such value and quality why deviate from the tasting menu? I'm going again in June and will have the 48 euro gourmet menu as I have total confidence in the chef's ability to delight.

Looks nothing from outside but inside it is bright and modern with modern art on the walls and a very unusual water feature. The welcome was friendly and prompt offer of an aperitif and proffering of menus was in sharp contrast to S'a Canova along the street where we were ignored for ten minutes. We went for the 25 euro set menu: five courses. For what I would call a tasting menu the courses were not over small and our appetites were satisfied by the end of the meal. Meal was: 1) a beautiful salad of warm mushrooms as pretty as it was delicious. 2) Rice soup with musels and lobster (a sort of "wet" paella.) 3) Cod with pepper sauce (red pepper not peppercorn) served with a lovely layered potato cake. 4) Loin of pork with sweet potato. Slices of delicious pork on sweet potato mash topped with deep fried starws of sweet potato, drizzled with a sauce of, I think, apple and honey. 5) Pudding: called Catalan custard (eh?) A circle of lightly gingered sponge topped with a lemony creme brulee type topping with caramalised crust. Pink ice cream on a paste of white chocolate with a slice of white choc . All decorated with a swirl of raspberry sauce and chocolate sauce. I'm not a pudding person but this was a great end to a great meal. And don't forget all this for about twenty quid! House wine (Rioja) drank way above what you would expect for 12 euros. Service was impeccable throughout. Although a bit off the beaten track in an uninspiring local town, this place is well worth the effort to seek out. There's an 8 course "gourmet" menu for 45 euros: I'll be having that next time now I know how good the cooking is. Full a la carte too of course, but I'd go for the set menus every time for their value and their variety.

We went for lunch after a recommendation from the Marriott hotel. The location is unprepossessing but the food and service excellent. The decor inside is also good. We chose one of their special 5 course menus and were impressed with everything: local soup, a cheese and dried tomato salad, the fish of the day, the local pork and the heavenly 3 chocolate dessert . The restaurant chooses local food in season and displays work from local artists on the walls. We weren't expecting such gourmet food and will definitely return.
