This zoo was clean and most of the animals and birds look well cared for but I am worried about the 2 Barn owls they had in a small cage. Both birds were rocking from 1 foot to another and they seemed very stressed. These birds are native to Lanzarote and should be released.

I also think they should stop the loud canned pipe-music from playing on a loop - that would drive anyone mad.

I am going to email the zoo about the Owls. If you visit and feel the same then please email them as well.

Around 25% of the enclosures had legable signs giving information on the animals / birds inside, the rest were missing, faded so much you couldn't read them, or blatently wrong. The parrot show was entertaining, but only lasted around 15 minutes - only three birds. I asked about the bird of prey show to be told that it had been cancelled as they were waiting for new birds. They had birds of prey in enclosures with leather anklets (used to attach the jesses to when working them) maybe it was the falconers day off? The walk through aviery was closed, and many of the water features in the park were empty. We spent around 2 hours there and walked round most of the park twice.
Definately not recomended.

This is a great place to visit, it's great value with a number of animals and birds to see. There's also an interactive parrot show where people are asked to participate, also the opportunity to feed both penguins and otters. It's often quieter in a morning before the majority of coach trips arrive.

Had a lovely time here, nice to see a mixture of old and young at this park. Animals all look so healthy and clean. The staff take very good care of them too and they appear to be well fed. A wonderful experience . Loved the parrots, these were my favourite as they seem so cheeky! Brilliant place.

Visited with husband and two boys aged 9 and 7. The animals are very well cared for and our eldest participated in the parrot show. We had an opportunity to feed otters following the penguin feeding. Our kids particularly liked the meerkat colony and the chatty parrots who enjoy spotting visitors. Views from the large cactus garden are fantastic. Staff are friendly and it looks like they have plans to develop the park further. Perhaps its location in the north means many tourist miss it staying in the southern areas but it was worth the drive up. Perhaps if more people visited it would develop a lot quicker.
