Tapas for Two, Yummy and generous portions. The fillet steak I had a lovely meal here with my husband and two teenage daughters, lots of Spanish eating here too. The girls had paella and rocket salad. A touch too much salt on both but easily resolved if asked, i'm sure Wines really good depth and breadth of selection by the glass.

Recommended by Tripadvisor we went to this restaurant which has a bar and a restaurant. By the recommendations it seemed like the tapas were the choice to make but they also had ordinary dishes on the meny. We chose the set tapas meny with seven different dishes and the waiter made the choice of the wine for us. The wine was a red spanish wine which blended very good with most of the dishes. We got a variety of fish, meat and vegetables all made with care and high quality. We thought that the tuna-tomato salad and pata negra tapas were the best. As a dessert I chose the chocalat fondants with ice cream which also was very good.
When we arrived we were the first ones to be there, but when we left there was people waiting in the bar to get a table. The waiters were very attentive and we didn't wait long for the food.
To summarize: Good choice, not on the cheap side, but good value. Very much recommended

We were a group of eight people walking in from the street a sunday evening after having found the place on tripadvisor. No problem organizing seating even though there were quite a few people.
We ordered a variety of dishes, starters, main courses and deserts.
I had yellowfin tuna carpathcio with soy souce, tartar steak and creme brulet for dessert.
It was one of the best meals I have had in a long while. The tuna was great, the tartar tasted fantastic and the creme brulet was creamy and crunchy.
Great atmosphere with good friends.
If you have the oppurtunity you should try the La Taberna del Gormet.

Just had a four night stay in Alicante and dived in here on the first night to get out of the rain. What a result! We sat at the bar and watched an array of lovely fresh hot and cold Tapas being served up. After a couple of drinks (the house red and the house Cava are both lovely) we started on the food. I won't bore with detail but enough to say everything we ate was superb. Washed the lot down with a couple more glasses of wine and a couple of Cruzcampo's and had a bit of banter with the staff (despite our lack of Spanish and their lack of English). The price does add up but considering the Gourmet standard of the food, how much of it we ate, plenty of drinks and the entertainment value (sitting at the bar), it really is good value. We enjoyed it so much that we ate there the other three nights that we were in Alicante and were never disappointed. Don't miss the cheeses and cured meats, one small portion of each shared between two is a good starter. The menu also caters very well for anyone who needs a gluten free diet and the gluten free bread (which takes about 10 minutes) is lovely.

A few of this chain about the city and great tapas and high quality of food. Cheese boards are a delight and half portions can be ordered. Good to sit at bar and watch the service in action.
