Just five minutes walking from the beach... Is like other andalucian small town inside of Alicante. Amazing corners for take a photos. Very peaceful, nice walk.

You have to walk steep stairs to get there but it's definitely worth it: you can see narrow streets and white houses with colourful details and flowers. I enjoyed it!

wander slowly through these streets both during the day and at night to get a feel of how the atmosphere changes

This is an old part of the city just beside the wall of the Castillo de Santa Barbara, easily accessible from the city center or Playa del Postiguet. Is a place with lot of stairs, some streets are very small and in the summer may stink a little due to the plumbers outside. Nothing that will make it a bad walk.

In the summer, at least this summer July 2018 the flowers in the houses were not so beautiful due to the high temperature making them fry fast. But, is a really good walk for anyone, couples, young people or elderly people but with good knees.

Is part of Alicante history and you should visit it. Stop to drink a wine where possible and try to imagine how many centuries passed, how many troops and wars were around that place... how much history... just around you!

Unwittingly took this route back to our hotel and really pleased that we did. It is an area of narrow lanes with hairpin bends all going up (I guess down as well) full of small neighbourhood bars and taverns. The traditional houses all seem to be well cared for and there is a section near the top where the floral displays are quite stunning.
The climb is not for the fainthearted or infirm but well worth it. Wonderful views from all points, especially the top.Well worth taking this route if in the area.
