we stayed in the gravino cinco on the 6thand 7th may. i must say very friendly hotel and the gentleman in reception sorry i didn,t get his name (had dark glasses) was a really nice gentleman. as it was our anniversary we had a bottle of champagne and chocolates which i thought was so nice. the rooms in this hotel were small but very very clean. the breakfast which ws included in the price was continental, different slices of ham, eggs, fruit, juices, plenty of fresh bread and some cakes. if you wanted you could have coffee and some fruit and cakes all through the day. we also had some water, cans of drink and some beer left if the fridge for us each morning which wasa lovely touch. the hotel was in a prime position for visiting alicante

We were very disappointed with the room, it was overlooking the back of the hotel so no view at all, everything seemed very squashed, you could just about manage to walk around the bed, to have the patio doors open you had to sit on the bed, the wardrobe and dressing area where sort of behind the window so it was very dark in that area, not good at for girls!
We were on the 5th floor, after a good long walk around the town we went back to the hotel, tried to get the lift only to find it full of the cleaners stuff - not good!
We didn't bother staying and checked out within hours of checking in, when we said the room was far too small the lady on reception shrugged and said all rooms were the same size!

Don't be put off though, if you literally just want somewhere to put your head this hotel is a good price in a good location and the man that checked us in was really helpful about the area.

Stayed 5 nights. The room, breakfast(including all day tea/coffee) staff, atmosphere, location and value for money were all terrific. The staff allowed us to practise speaking Spanish and rescued us when we got it wrong!! Location very central. Very close to C6 Airport bus, beach, bus station, town centre/historic centre. We walked to RENFE comfortably too. Would definitely stay again. Staff in sister hotel Tryp Ciudad were also very helpful.

We only stayed for one night, but found the hotel to be really great. it's in a great location for seeing the city.We found the room clean and quiet .There is free tea and coffee available at reception (24 hours) The breakfast was adequate to get you started in the morning. The staff were all lovely, friendly and very helpful.
We travelled by bus from Alicante airport, the C6.it didn't take long' about 30 minutes there,40 back, and the bus stop is very near the hotel.
The next time we visit Alicante this is the hotel we would chose to stay.

We booked 3 nights at the Gravina Cinco based mainly on price and were very pleasantly suprised. Our room was very small but well appointed with excellent lighting (something you don't often find these days) and a free mini bar. The bathroom was large - compared to the room and very clean with large towels. The breakfast was fine, rolls, ham, eggs, cheese, pastries with a coffee machine and fruit available all day which was a nice touch. The staff were friendly and very helpful. However the real surprise was the excellent location - squeezed in between the beach front/marina and the old town. Everything was within easy walking distance and just 30mins on the bus from the airport. Just what was needed for a few days in the sun.

booked this as we wanted to see what alicante was like as we always just fly in on our way to benidorm. It was well situated just off the harbour and right on the edge of the old town. Our room was clean but small, had quite a big bathroom with shower and a small mini bar that had soft drinks, water and beer stocked daily and was included in the price. You could help yourself to coffee and pastries and fresh fruit throughout the day, this was also included in the price. Breakfast was the usual pastries and cheese and cold meat, eggs, yogurts tea, coffee etc and was more than adequate. I would book this hotel again as staff were friendly and helpful and it was close to all the attractions. We took the tram into benidorm to meet up with friends and found it really easy to use and a return ticket was just over 6 euros each so really cheap too. Lots of tapas bars in alicante and fabulous shopping .

My partner and I booked 1 night in this hotel as a stpover before moving down to Arenales for 8 days. The hotel is one street behind the esplanade and the City Hall plaza and situated in the Old City. It could not be handier to all the best that Alicante has to offer in terms of the beach - about 200 metres away, the harbour - across the road and loads of bars and restaurants just feet away. We particularly liked the Chinese in the same street as the hotel - turn left as you come out the door and about 50 metres on the right! Excellent value and lovely food and wine - basically for nothing!

We finished our apartment holiday in Arenales and came back to the Gravina for 3 more days. Great base and a neat small hotel with really friendly staff who made us feel very welcome and ironed out our reservation problems - my fault!!!!

The breakfast is a basic but good buffet and strong coffee and cake is available 24 hours a day. Being addicted, this was excellent. There's a mini bar in the rooms and you are given some soft drinks and beer gratis.

Overall, I would recommend this hotel as the perfect base to explore a great city to which I will return! Thanks to all the staff.

Jim and Jacquie, Belfast and Coleraine.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front have a small balcony overlooking the street which is handy for smokers.
