“Great location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 7, 2014

This is an ideally located hotel to visit the old city of Alicante and go to the seafront promenade which is only minutes' walk away. At this time of the year - early April - it is good value. It is comfortable and clean and it was quiet (we were't there at the week-end).

Although this hotel is centrally located, it is not accessible by car and we had to phone them to find exact location. The front of the hotel faces a square with a beautiful view, but the back of the hotel looks totally undesirable. Good restaurants are close as well as the beach and other tourist locations.
At night there are some undesirables hanging out on the streets and this became more apparent as the night went on. We went to bed around midnight and were awakened by shouting in the street behind the hotel. The shouting went on from around 2 - 5 am and there was never a sign of any police in the area at any time.
The room was neat and beds were comfortable, but sleep was not to be had. The doors might be double glazed, but people shouting and fighting sounded as if they were actually in the hotel.
The room was hot and the temperature control as well as the fan did not work. The breakfast was OK. When the staff was told about the noise problem, they offered a free breakfast.
Much work is needed to improve this place. Without proper security in the area, I would not return. Yes it's a bargain, but it's not worth loss of sleep. It's definitely not suitable for a family.
The hotel does offer a reduced rate for parking which is across the road and underground.

The location is great in the old town opposite the town hall and two minutes from the beach.

We had room 307 which had a great view of the town hall and castle, however the noise from bars and traffic throughout the night made it difficult for a good nights sleep.

The room was nice and clean and a good size, needs renovating tho, some skirting missing throughout the hotel making it look slightly scruffy for this I would say its a good 3 star rather than 4.

Would stay again for the location.

Very clean hotel however need some renovation. The roos and bathroom are big enough however really cold! We had a problem with the heating and during the night become extremely cold. The main advantage of this hotel is definitely really nice and helpful staff.

Location is good (From the airport, take the C6 bus to plaza puerta del mar, from there you are 5 minutes away from plaza de ayuntamento where the hotel is located), staff very nice, rooms clean, terrace is lovely.

Location very central, noisy noisy noisy, especially during weekends. Breakfast was just ok, probably not worth it as can get cheap breakfast deals all around the hotel. Air conditioner does not work at all, so you think 'it's ok, I can open the window' (but then you can't sleep because of the noise :)

I'd give this place a pass next time, there are nicer places for sure.

Stayed for 3 nights, hotel was fine except for the noise of the traffic at night. We were on 5th floor in room 501 facing a side street & even with the double glazed balcony door shut we could still here it.

Other than this the hotel was very good. Breakfast was excellent.

Would rate the hotel as 3* not 4* though.

The hotel is in an excellent location in Alicante town centre. It is only a few steps away from shops, restaurants, the beach, the port and the Explanada de Espana. It is also less than 3 minutes from the airport bus stop in Puerta del Mar (2.90 euros each way every 20 minutes). Our room on floor 3 overlooked the square with its water fountains and was clean and comfortable with ensuite, TV and balcony but no kettle etc.
Breakfast was not included but could be purchased for 8.50 euros. However there are at least a dozen cafes nearby including the Cafe del Faz ( churreria recommended) and the cafe on the corner of the square so this is not a problem. The staff were friendly and helpful and spoke good English. We would give it better than average but there was noise from other rooms and stairs on two nights and there is no lounge/bar. However great value for money in a great location where you can do Alicante entirely on foot.

Room Tip: avoid rooms near lift/stairs if possible
