“Everything I needed in great location”
Reviewed October 2, 2011

Stayed 2 nights, Saturday and Sunday, in late September. Can only echo all the positive comments made recently, had absolutely no complaint about this hotel. As I was travelling alone and only short stay was anticipating a smaller, basic room, but got a lovely room on 4th floor overlooking La Rambla with a small balcony. Room and bathroom were very clean, beds were comfortable and despite being a weekend the double glazing did a very effective job at keeping the noise from the street to a minimum. Had all the facilities I required, and was excellent value for money. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend to anyone looking for a hotel in central Alicante.

Great location close to El Postiguet beach, Old Town, La Explanada.
The bus to the airport stopped right across the street.
The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. Breakfest was ok.

This hotel is great! Right in the city centre, close to the old quater, a stones throw away from the beach and every transport link you could think of on the doorstep.
The staff were attentive, helpful, and friendly. The rooms have everything you need (no need to pack a hair dryer) and we had a lovely balcony with double, double glazing to keep out noise from the street. Nice cold air-con. The mini fridge in the room is a great idea, you can keep cold water and snacks in there, but I wouldn't use any of the products in there, as there is a 24hour shop two doors down with drinks to buy at a fraction of the price.
Yes, it's true there are no English TV channels (shock horror)....but why on Earth would you want to sit in the room watching mind numbing soap operas when it's blazing hot outside?? My advice to people who complain about this....learn Spanish and don't expect the world to speak English to you!!! A lovely place to stay and we would recommend it to anyone!
Tip: suntan lotion is cheaper in Spain and weighs an awful lot in your precious baggage allowance....don't bother taking any and buy it when you are there! All the shops along the seafront sell it.

We stayed here for 5 nights during the last week of July 2011. I originally chose this hotel because of it's close proximity to all the attractions and good value for money.
The beach was just a few minutes from the beach, the shops, restaurants etc... and the Mercado tram station was about 5 mins walk away, which had trams that took you to Benidorm where all the main theme parks are located - so, perfect for keeping the kids entertained! My 5 year old son thoroughly enjoyed the holiday. We visited the Santa barbara Castle, which was just across the road and there was also a kiosk at which you could buy tickets to visit Tabarca Island by boat at the end of our street!

I was very impressed by the perfect location to everything...having read bad reviews on this hotel I was expecting the same but the triple room we stayed in was VERY clean, quiet and the en suite bathroom was more than adequate and very roomy! Air conditioning worked like a gem. Breakfast was included in the price; there was a lovely view from the balcony of the breakfast room. The hotel reception was small but adequate and welcoming. Tickets to Terra Mitica /Aqualandia theme parks could also be bought at the reception.

I would recommend this excellent hotel to anyone - but especially for the family - this was a 2 star hotel and I have seen 3 or 4 star ones in worse condition than the Rambla.

Stayed in Hotel Rambla for 5 nights last week, and it really is a 2-star gem!
Perfect location: the airport bus stops just outside the hotel, 10 minutes' walk from the beach, the lovely Old Town area and it's great bars and restaurants. The room was clean, the bed and the pillows comfortable. The air/con was good and there was a good hairdryer available.
The breakfast is basic, but for 4 euros you get juices, cereal, bread with cheese, ham, salami, jams etc and pastries and cakes. There are lots nice of cafés just around the hotel, if you prefer having just coffee and churros for breakfast.
The staff were friendly and helpful.
Our room was on the 4th floor, on the street side. The street was a bit noisy at nights, but as we preferred having the windows closed and the a/c on, it didn't really disturb us.
The minibar was well equipped with water and juices, but we bought water etc from a small shop nearby - cheaper, and you could get larger bottles of water.

Very disappointed didn't even have a proper window! Also e-mailed before hand to ask about courtesy room they explained we could leave are cases and use the toilet ( no courtesy room). When we returned for our cases, we were told there was no toilet. Not very charitable! Good job we had some money left we used a little bar across the road to wash and change and use the loo ( it cost us for drinks and food).
