I can't say anything bad about this hotel and its ever so helpful staff that will go 10 miles out of their way to get you what you need a s want if they have to. If you are planning a stay in Alicante, the Amerigo is the way to go. Only little point I'd mention is that their gym is cardio only, no weights, but for a holiday that's more than good enough. I love this place and its personal touch --- would recommend it to everyone and will definitely return here on my next visit to Alicante. We've tried Melia and Spa Maris and they simply are not a match for the grace and elegance that you'll find at Amerigo. Oh, be sure to check out their restaurant even if you're not staying here... It's sublime!

We stayed at this hotel last week and cant fault the service. Staff were very friendly and keen to help, especially when recommending places to eat or visit. Hotel is right in the centre of the old town and lots if bars / restaurants nearby. Would only say that the hotel sunbathing area is rather small and only fits a couple of people, the Beach however is just 5 mins away and very easy to find.

A fabulous stay, would definitely return. Very friendly and helpful staff, who made some great restaurant recommendations. Clean, modern & well equipped hotel, the room had everything we needed, including air conditioning without the normal noisy unit. An excellent breakfast buffet, with a huge range of quality food to choose from. The roof top pool wasn't quite as nice as it looks in the photos, it is quite enclosed which is a shame, but the rest of the roof top area is nice for relaxing, with amazing views of the castle; and the bar serves great cocktails. The hotel is in a great location for the beach and restaurants/bars. It was a little noisy at night in our room at the front of the hotel, but that is what you often get when you are in such a convenient central location. Overall an excellent stay, thanks.

Room Tip: Room at the front was a little noisy at night.

This is a really gorgeous hotel, very simple and elegant. Very very very clean. Im a clean freak and I must say the room and foyer etc were spotless. I didnt find that the carpet needed to be cleaned on the 2nd floor we were on the 2nd floor and it was perfectly clean.

The staff were excellent Christian in particular, we're only sorry we didnt meet him earlier in our stay as we should really have asked for recommendations about restaurants etc rather than wing it ourselves.

We said that the only 'down side' if there was one of the hotel was that they had keys with really heavy symbols on them. Christian pointed out that in fact it was the hotels way of keeping in touch with customers, and thats so true when we thought about it. Christian said if it was electronic keys that no one would come to reception and they may as well be robots. We totally understood then and agreed.

Our room was to be non smoking however whoever was there had smoked on the balcony, this annoys me but nothing the hotel could have done. Some people are just ignorant if you book a non smoking room dont smoke simple.

We will definitely return. The pool wasnt great was indoor and cheap looking but the bar upstairs was lovely and intimate and out door. Cocktails 8 euro. expensive but nice.

Will be back for sure.

So close to everywhere, No need for a car here either even though we got one, parking is 29 euro per night.

The bed, pillows and duvets were just amazing we had the best nights sleep ever totally fab. Egyptian cotton sheets we were told.

The photos dont do it justice on here either its lovely really nice. The courtyard is so pretty too.

Thank you Christian see you again.

Room Tip: Ask for one thats quiet.

This hotel is fabulous boutique city hotel full of charm and atmosphere in "old" Alicante..If you are after a holiday resort with large pool area etc then this is not for you! The rooms are brilliant minimalist, modern type with 2 sinks which stopped the usual fighting to get to the sink first! A separate shower and bath and a loo with bidet with a frosted glass door and so if you are the shy type you might not like this!! The air con in the room was quiet and very efficient.Every toiletry and extra from toothbrush to shaving accessories are there..A decent hair dryer for the ladies is available. The bed was large and comfortable... In fact I give the room a real "thumbs up". Breakfast is served on floor E...a mezzanine and is great value and informal. It is in a buffet style and exquisitely displayed..Eggs etc are coked to order and unusual fruit juices are available...kiwi for example...
So where are the negatives...certainly NOT the staff whom I have to say from bar staff to front desk were extremely friendly and helpful....The roof top terrace is small and has a bar that opens at mid day but alas there are no snacks available...During the evening the sun beds are put away and it becomes a lovely Japanese-Sushi open restaurant.... The pool is small and partially covered which can give shade from the sun.. The area available for sun beds is small so I can imagine at times can be a problem and my ONE big gripe that the sun beds are awful..metal and a hideous pink colour... PLEASE get rid of these and provide some decent designer beds.... The bar manager was friendly and great at his job.... The spa was there to repair my wife's toe nails and only being there for the weekend I did not use the gym....
The restaurant Monastrell which adjoined the hotel was excellent and though we also visited a restaurant on the marina which was very average... my advice is you probably will go a long way to find better food in Alicante..Expect to pay 40-50 Euros a head with wine...
Finally,a word about Alicante....Coming from the UK and knowing of Benidorm I expected Alicante to be similar...Wow was I in for a surprise..Charming...old city, wonderful promenade, gorgeous marina, fabulous architecture and quaint narrow streets..A lovely castle well with a visit with the free lift rather than take 40 minutes to walk up there ... The annual festival was on whilst we were there so there was lots of noise until late but this is a city hotel and the locals do go out late so join them... Above all this is a Spanish City and definitely not the Costa Plonka...so you will love it!! We look forward to returning......

Room Tip: Difficult to find a quiet room but probably go for one on the 3rd floor and away from the front of t...

Very well located hotel - walking distance from all the attractions. Helpful and friendly staff who recommended places to go and places to eat.The room was spacious and very well kept with a good sized bathroom. Excellent breakfast with plenty of choice & friendly staff who remembered my tea. There is an excellent restaurant & tapas bar on site and the rooftop spa provided a relaxing massage. A small billing error was corrected quickly and without fuss. An extremely pleasant and relaxing stay with my only, small, quibble being 24 hours notice being required to arrange a taxi. I'd definitely return to this hotel if I come back to Alicante.

Room Tip: Rooms close to the front can get a little noisy from street noise in the night (there was a festival...

The room is spacious and centrally located in an old area of the city, just 3 blocks from the beach. Wonderful staff who are friendly and helpful. Fabulous breakfast selections. We would gladly book a stay at this hotel in the future.
