“What a joke!!!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 17, 2013

I paid more than 10.60 euros for 2 glasses of sangria for me and my girlfriend just before taking the boat back to Alicante. When I received the bill I told the waiter it's expensive. He started explaining that the costs on the island are higher than in the continent. But he stopped talking when I told him that 2 hours ago for lunch I paid 4 euros for one litre of sangria in another restaurant!!!

AVOID THIS PLACE! They just see you as walking euros.

“Well Worth The Trip”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 1, 2012

If you are fortunate enough to be staying in or near Alicante or Santa Pola during the holiday season then do take time out to spend a day at this glorious and pretty little island, especially if it's hot as the sea breezes will be cooling.

The ferry from Santa Pola takes just under half an hour and is fun especially if you like feeding fish which is an added attraction of each ferry that enters the harbour. The main beach of the island is pebbly or shingly but does have pretty good facilities for rather a remote spot.

As you may expect, there are many restaurants and over the years we have tried a few but our favourite, not least for the view is Restaurante La Almadraba. This restaurant specialises in sea food in general but it is for their rice dishes (Arroz) that we make a special journey each year. Our all time favourite is Arroz Marinera and here it is of a standard to judge all other rice dishes by. Fantastic rich sea food flavours expertly cooked and carefully served, gueridon style, at your table. Salads, ice creams, flans all compliment this wonderful dish and the wine list represents outstanding value, especially the local Alicante wines (only reds and rosada tried).

The service is warm, friendly and unhurried and the view of the harbour from the restaurant terrace is sheer bliss. After lunch recline like a beached whale on a sun bed by the sea and dream of dinner!
