“Great hotel for quiet break from driving.”
Reviewed March 7, 2013

Well presented minimalist hotel with nice clean lobby. Staff spoke great English room was very clean and modern with comfy bed(no kettle). Great sea view from room, facing diagonally towards the sea to block out the breeze v.clever. Hotel is ideal for an overnight break from driving like we did or a quick buisness break. Wouldn't recommend for party animals or long term guests as the amemities @ area arent aimed at this clientele. Hotel is very good value for money

++++ Wife left her wedding rings in room and cleaner had handed them in, very honest staff and hope the cleaner recieved her reward, muchas gracias to you all thanks again a++++

Thank you for your comments. It really is a pleasure receiving this kind of positive feedback, as it is our goal to improve our customers stay. Your opinion is much appreciated. So much so, I hereby would like to say that we have considered the idea of having kettle facilities on demand at the reception desk. By the way, the cleaner did receive her reward. She is very grateful.
Thank you once again.

The hotel has nice sea view, just 8 km away from Alicante city center and across the "San Juan de Alicante" beach.
It takes 2 minutes to go to the beach and takes 15 minutes to go to the city center by bus or train. The interior decoration of the lobby and cafeteria is quite unique and charming. The hotel restaurant and cafeteria are pretty good. The rooms are comfortable, quiet and clean. I haven't used the swimming pool; it's small and seems average in terms of hygiene.

We booked a room at a discounted price (25 euros) and were very pleasantly surprised as we arrived. Lovely lobby and restaurant, clean, tidy rooms and the beach nearby. Parking is very practical wherever the room is (access at the back too). Excellent reception - we will certainly come again. Quiet and wonderful beds!
Slightly annoyed by the room service: no information on how to dial it on the menu (previously "9" would have been necessary) so it was not accessible to us when we needed it. Once you know that, everything else rolls smoothly.

Room Tip: Ask for sea view and a higher floor, in any case. The seafront is lovely and worthwhile.

This hotel is perfect if you're looking for a nice and quiet holiday. It is not convenient it you want to go clubbing, as it is located in a very family friendly area. Also, there aren't as many foreigners so you can mix with the locals around (and it's also cheaper than other places in Alicante),

We stayed here for 5 days in September. Room was on the first floor, facing the sea, and with a big terrace with nice views.

Room was spacious, clean and had plenty of storage. Bathroom was big and had a power shower.

We had only booked b&b but after trying the restaurant on the first day we decided to go half board.

Staff were absolutely wonderful, always helpful. There's a car park at the back of the hotel. There's also a tram stop 5 minutes from the hotel and it takes you to Alicante, Benidorm, Altea and it's really cool.

Best thing: the swimming pool! We stayed there for hours and some days didn't even go to the beach.

We would recommend it to anyone looking for a place to relax.

Room Tip: Choose one facing the sea!

Read the reviews and thought this would be okay for an overnight stop on our way to Morocco. sat nav found it with no problem, pulled into car park - there are a few undercover areas which was handy. When I walked into reception I thought, hello this is not bad, fairly modern and clean, a quick peek into the dining room looked okay was well, a bit of it's time but perfectly acceptable. The ride upto the room in a modern lift was again raising our expectations...........however upon opening the door to our room I did a double take - I thought the ride up in the lift had in fact transported us back to 1973. OMG. I guess we got the only room in the hotel that hadn't been refurbished. That said it was pretty clean but the furniture was a real let down, manky old velvet covered chair that I didn't want to sit on it let alone hang clothes over it, the bed frames were worn out - it is such a contrast from the communal areas we had just been through. But it was cheap (for a reason?) and it was only for one night.
The restaurant was okay - every dish came with lettice and the staff were friendly and helpful.
Maybe I'm being too hard (no I'm not). If you were spending 2 weeks there you'd be disappointed. Yes it's cheap, yes there is a lovely beach very close, yes there is a swimming pool, yes the air con in the rooms is very good, yes there is good on site parking, but some how you just feel it's a missed opportunity with a bit more effort on the rooms it could be a lovely hotel - as it stands, I couldn't recommend it.

Dear Michael. Thank you for your review. I must thank you as well for staying in our hotel, and your description of the communal areas are wonderful. I would like to take the time to explain all the changes that this hotel has gone through recently. In the first place, one of the most important improvements done to this hotel was actually making the lift come down to floor 0. We have changed the front desk giving it a modern touch. The Bar is new as well, with an elegant decor, and confortable corners to sit and have a drink or two. We incorporated a wide screen in the Bar (for special occasions). We built a back door entrance to the hotel from the parking area, to make it an easier and a faster way in. Regarding the rooms, we do have Standard double rooms (which are absolutely renovated), and non-renovated double rooms (the less, with the only difference that they have old furniture. These rooms are obviously to be renovated soon). But these non-renovated rooms did go through some renovation: we changed the old TVs for plasma TVs, and the bathrooms are all new. I hope you could give us a second chance to stay once again in our hotel, and you will for sure appreciate the difference between a standard room and the room you once stayed in.
Regards,
Javier Altieri

This hotel is nicely situated on a nice part of the San Juan beach. The price and some charecteristics of the hotel imply that this is a posh hotel but a few things counter that idea.
The room we got had not been renovated, but we thought we were just getting a smaller room for the price. We were a bit taken aback by the worn interior and decor.
One key reason for choosing the hotel was the late checkout which they really can´t promise or book in advance. Why offer a service you can´t provide?
I was shocked to see the same cheap juice blending machine at breakfast as I´d seen in the Holiday Inn Express prior, a considerably more affordable hotel. It serves some vile coloured liquid but nothing that resembles juice.
The way to the hotel from the beach front is dangerous and inaccessible as there is no pedestrian pathway and you have to walk on the road.
The pool is segregated from the hotel building and is on the other side of a driveway.
That said the hotel is quite nice but it´s just a tad overpriced and confident compared to the competition.
The vicinity features the lovely San Juan beach a minutes walk from the lobby. Really cool beach bars that open in the evening are withing view of the hotel. And even though the pool is a bit awkward it is nice to have and they do have a lifeguard on watch, always.
The breakfast can be taken inside in a grand breakfast room or outside. There´s a bar and restaurant open in the evening but we used neither.
The general manager took comments about our room very seriously and was helpful in resolving our issues.
For a quiet vacation on the beach I could reccomend this hotel.

Just home from a lovely family holiday in Alicante. We booked a quintet room in the Almirante Hotel which was reasonably priced. It was essentially two rooms with a connecting door. The two bathrooms were great!! The rooms were air conditioned, spotless and cleaned every day.The staff were very friendly. We had a medical situation which required a trip to hospital the day of our flight home and i must say the management/staff could not have been more helpful.
The hotel has a lovely pool area which the kids loved. There is a fabulous beach only 100 metres away. It is never too crowded as it is so long.Lifeguards on duty. Lovely to walk the long promenade. Great peaceful location with very efficient tram service into the centre of Alicante (15Mins) or to Benidorm (50 mins). Overall very nice, quiet hotel.I would definately stay there again
