Hotel: V.Clean, Smelled nice, basic, computers in lobby free for guests, vending water & sweet machines on ground floor. .90c for 500ml of water. Bring your own kettle, as their isn't one in the hotel.

Rooms: Hair dryer powerful, I had room looking over pool (i did not have balcony). My parents had room facing sea, they had balcony. We both paid same price. Room basic but functional. Safe: €20 deposit to reception on arrival which is returned.

Food: Breakfast: Scrambled eggs, beans, rashers, hash browns, fried tomatoes, croissants, pan du chocolate + cheeses, ham, fruit (grape fruit,Melon,Kiwi, Pineapple), coffee machine, Toast & Fruit juices, Cereals. €9 if you want breakfast one morning payable at entrance to breakfast room. €8 if you purchase breakfast ticket for every morning of your stay in advance at reception. Breakfast 9/10.

Lunch:available in pool side bar: Chips, toasted sandwiches, burger, drinks (full stop).. Very poor menu selection. Chips €1.50 sandwiches €2.50.

Dinner: STAY AWAY! No labels on any menu item at dinner, so you did not know what you were eating. Nothing was edible. A baked potato, vegetables with no olive oil, and chicken/beef with a nice sauce would have been great. €15 for buffet.

Location: Tram 2 minute walk away: turn left when you exit front door of Hotel cross the road to your left and go to the underground. Benidorm is Fantastic for SHOPPING, beach, hop on hop off bus, Aquarium,Zoo, Go Carting, Boat rides, lovely beaches etc etc. Benedorm is very reasonable a toasted sandwich €1.Ticket costs €6.40 return per person, trams leave from 8am-10.30pm. It is 1 hour and 10 minutes on tram.GO you will really enjoy it what ever your age!!

El Campello has a market on a Wednesday, It consists of clothes, shoes, resentments, jewelry, food and children's toys. Ticket on Tram to El Campello is €1.50 each way per person. Lovely beaches their to!!

Alicante: Go on the hop on hop off bus, it costs €10, visits santa barbara castle which is located next door but a huge climb to walk, so bus brings you up hill., Marq museum, which is five minutes walk from hotel, Luceros shopping area ( more expensive then same items in Benidorm).

Food in Alicante in general isn't very nice i.e lunches + dinners. Benidorm had a really reasonable and delicious food and cheap. If you turn right when you come out of the hotel and take the next right, walk thirty meters and their is a lovely Italian on the corner, pizza pasta etc. Main course €8.50. Shopping centre 100 meteres away. Directions: When you walk out of the hotel walk straight across the four lanes of traffic, straight in front of you their is a restaurant on the corner, walk up that street for twenty meters & you will reach the foot bridge to to to the shopping centre. Their is a great supermarket their and cheap, all boutique shops after that thiough.

Hotel Improvements:

Entertainment at night in Hotel, Musicians, dancers. as it has no nightly entertainment currently

Tea & Coffee facilities in bedroom for guests

Tour guide available at reception to book tours as it was very hard to find tours.

Dinner: Label menus in English, BAKED LARGE POTATOES + Beans for dinner!! Selection currently poor.

Would stay again, as location is good once you find your way around!!!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with balcony

We have just returned from a one night stay at the Hotel Maya. The cleanliness is second to none, the food both at dinner (which was offered to us at a very reasonable cost including wine & water) and at breakfast were excellent. We only expected a continental breakfast but got a very pleasant surprise when included on the buffet were bacon, sausage, fried & scrambled eggs, sausages, baked beans & even hash browns and all cooked to perfection. We found all the staff to be pleasant, courteous and helpful at all times and a special mention must go to Yves & Fran on reception. All the staff we met spoke very good English. The rooms as were the rest of the hotel were nicely decorated and very clean. We have only given four stars due to the lack of tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms but apart from that everything was 1st class.

This is a great hotel for the money. It walking distance to the castle, shopping centre, tram and the beach. The staff are great and very helpful. The breakfast had a really good selection of fresh food and catered for the English tastes of bacon and eggs :)....The rooms are spacious if a bit basic. The bathrooms were also very clean and of a good standard for this level of hotel. All round a great hotel, in a central location and value for money.

Room Tip: The rooms over looking the pool get very hot in the afternoon if you haven't pulled the black ou...

Good value for money, the tram few minutes walk, the beach is about 10min walk and is lovely with a long prom that takes you to the city centre. There are plenty of restaurants along the way however we ate locally to hotel. The walk to the centre can take 15/20 minutes and it is very built up.
The hotel does have thin walls and you can hear other guests however this did not spoil our stay, the room was cleaned daily and there is a plaza with some nice shops a few muntes walk away. My only wish is that they have tea/coffee making facilities in room, they do have mini bar which has soft drinks, water and beer, however it is expensive.

We have spend 4 nights in Hotel Maya Alicante and we haven't regretted single day. But I have a few suggestions on the things that they can improve.

The overall service quality was good but there were certain moments at which I felt it could be better. Before I arrived at this hotel I have heard some reviews about the sleep quality and if you are looking to sleep in and have a good night sleep then this hotel is not for you.

I would like to highlight a few things which I found very good about this hotel: breakfast, cleanliness and value for money! Thank you!
