“Morning out.”
Reviewed November 25, 2012

Finally got round to visiting this castle and really enjoyed. We cheated and drove up to the top rather than the long walk from the beachfront but I'm glad we did. The castle itself is quite hilly and we would have been really tired if we had walked all the way up. Having said that it is a fantastic building to look round and the views are amazing.

“Sweeping views of the city.”
Reviewed November 19, 2012

There were exhibitions ongoing in the castle, there was signage in Spanish/English and other languages. There is a convenient lift up to the castle ( catering for wheel chairs and the elderly) The castle offers sweeping views of the sea and its interesting to wander around. Take shelter from the heat in the cool ancent interiors. Well worth a visit, best combined with a tour of the old town.

“Great views”

Castle views were fantastic, the Pirates exhibition wasn't worth the separate entrance fee. From the Castle you can see all over Alicante and beyond.

“Almost impossible to find on foot”
Reviewed November 11, 2012

We wanted to walk to the castle but ended up spending a couple of hours winding around and around the mountain until finally finding the entrance - it seems they don't want people to walk up but take the well sign-posted elevator instead (which is only a couple of euros, so why not?). We visited the 'Pirates' exhibition inside which wasn't very informative or interesting, and there's not much to see at the castle except for lovely views. Worth doing if you have time to spare, there's not much else to do in Alicante itself.
