“Good hotel at a good rate”
Reviewed July 17, 2013

We stayed here for a weekend in July. The hotel staff were very friendly, the rooms were clean and the bed comfortable. The bathroom was clean and spacious enough.
The rooms all have large balconies with (plastic) chairs, so you can sit outside.
The hotel is close to the beach and there are enough restaurants in the area to keep you happy.

The location in San Juan, Alicante is great. Very close to the beach and as far as I know all rooms have seaview. We stayed in 2 rooms and had a nice view from both of them. We you get a room on the left side of the building (beach side) at the end of the hall you'll get a big balcony with your room. They called that room a suite but eventhough it had a kingsize bed I wouldn't call it a suite. Rooms are not small but ain't big either. No fridge, no tea or coffee maker. TV and airconditioning are there. Decent bathroom but in one room slightly more outdated then in the other we stayed in. So I think some of the rooms have been re-done. Swimmingpool is nice and offers plenty of room the sit or lie down. It's got a restaurant/bar at the groundfloor and you can sit outside drinking your beer or wine with some tapas. All in all not a bad place to stay.

Room Tip: Rooms at the edge of the hotel (beach side) have big balconies with sea view.

We were nicely surprised about hotel. We also were happy about the location- it is in more calm part of city but still good connection to city centre and tramps stop very close. The nice san juan beach just few minutes away. Rooms are big and balcony also. It's is really clean place and each day you find your room cleaned, towels changed. We really liked hotel terrace where we liked in evening to have a drink sit and check emails. Staff friendly, breakfast quite ok also. Like for 3 stars hotel is good I think. Reception were not most cheerful people ever but their English was enough good to explain you anything you ask or answer any questions. The parking of hotel is like 10 euros per day plus taxes. Overall nice hotel.

This hotel is a reasonably priced 3 star. It is clean and well located for the excellent beach and the limited attractions of San Juan. Easy to access from Alicante airport via the city.
With a few simple tweaks my lasting impression would have been so much more positive.

In general the staff were fine but one male and one female receptionists require retraining in customer relations. A smile and a friendly greeting on arrival is not difficult. Much preferable to a bark of "You have a reservation? Passports!" When there was a powercut in the evening, friendly reassurance was required rather than a waved away hand gesture.

To be told to turn the air conditioning down was not clever either since this was a major factor in the hotel selection.

Pool opening hours and shade umbrellas are also limited.

Not difficult to fix all these minor quibbles which added up to disappointment.

If you are a couple, the double-bedded room we were given was of excellent size and the bed must've been a double-king, it was huge and very comfortable, we would highly recommend.

All of the rooms look-out to the same view - unspectacular, but the service, staff and cleanliness of the hotel more than make up for it.

Hotel was lovely very near the beach, good local transport right outside the door of hotel. The food was not so good, breakfast was the same every morning. We were half bard, out of seven nights I would say three were ok. WIne very good 6 Euros a bottle. Staff were helpful. Rooms were clean and comfortable no complaints. Taxi from airport 35 euros.

This 3 star hotel is very good value. It has many good points- and a few less than good.
The latter refers primarily to the bed and the pillows, which are incredibly hard, inflexible and uncomfortable. Also, the very well maintained swimming pool has rather limited opening hours (10.30a.m.- 3p.m. then 5p.m.-7p.m.). The breakfast is ample and satisfactory, except for the slowest toaster in Spain! Too many guests take food from the restaurant at breakfast, which is a shame and the hotel specifically asks guests to desist.

Apart from these points, the hotel is kept wonderfully clean and rooms are a good size.Ask for a pool view room if possible. Take your own toiletries as the hotel ones are minimal and not great quality.
The hotel location is a huge bonus. The bus stops right outside to go into Alicante centre ; the Tranvia(tram) stop, Londres, is within 2 minutes and also goes into Alicante in about 30 minutes, for only €1.45. With connections easily made on this modern system you can also go up the coast to Benidorm and Denia.

The beautiful 6-7 mile long , wide ,Playa San Juan is only 50 metres from the hotel. Like the hotel , it is kept incredibly clean. No dogs are allowed on it and workers rake and scour it every day between 03hrs and 08.30hrs. Sunbeds (€4 per day) and parasols are plentiful and for hire .
There is a promenade the length of the beach alongside which is a cycle track. The beach has a number of lifeguards with a flag system notifying of calm or rough seas etc . It is specially goood for small children as it is fairly shallow and very clean water.

Another plus re location; there is a great little 24 hour supermarket on the corner, 25 metres from the hotel, and another almost as near, where you can buy lovely fruit and vegetables along with much else at very reasonable prices. 5 litres of water cost only 95 cents. They sell ice and I would recommend taking a cool bag- the hotel has no fridges in rooms- for your drinks and food . There are many vendors of water, beer and soft drinks on the beach. My favourite was the pint of Sangria for 5€! Also other sellers of stuff wander about with sunglasses, clothing, watches,CDs, but they are not officious or too persistent.

WiFi is available in the hotel foyer and there is an Internet Cafe around the corner from the hotel.

There is a large number of places to eat, including Indian and Italian,as well as many Arrocerias (paella place) surrounding the hotel though in the evenings many of these do not serve dinner till 8.30p.m. at the earliest. The Spanish like to eat very late and think nothing of going out to eatat 10 or 11p.m.. The bar, open all day, in the hotel is good with freshly cooked food, served quickly and a varied menu. The coffee and fresh orange juice are particulalry good too.

It was a lovely mini break to catch some sun, which has been so lacking at home, and for very fair prices and its location, this hotel must take some beating
