The dirve from either Benidorm or Agost to the north is very very scenic but has many steep climbs and bends. However the drive is well woth it for the scensry particularly in Feb/Mar when the Almond Trees are in blossom. On reaching Guadalest village s tiff walk awits those who wish to go to the top and the castle which was the stronghold of El. Cid but the walk is well worth it as the views are spectacular. There are sveral bars and restaurants and shops selling souvenirs together with a Lladro shop with one of the largest displays that I have seen outside of the factory in Valencia

Enjoyed a great day out here, the views are stunning and the town was in itself very interesting, we visited the Dolls House Museum and really enjoyed it and there are other Museums if you wish. We did the visit as part of a Blanket Trip, which in itself was quite interesting, before trying to sell you their products, we were also taken to a Bodega to sample wines etc. Give it a go,it's worth a visit and a few hours of any tourist's time.

Spend a day in Guadalest while on a longer stay in the Alicante area. A very welcome change to the beach. Very nice views and now in the winter month there were not so many tourists. Not sure how I would like it in summer when the place is packed with people. Don't expect too much from the restaurants there and spend the 3EUR to actually go up to the castle. It is worth the money.

I didn't like how everyone gets filmed and photographed to sell you additional souvenirs. What a waste of paper as well!

l have been to Guadalest about 8 times now as l never miss a visit every time l go to Spain,it is so beautiful expecially the view of the lake from the top.l thought at first nothing could be as vibrant a colour as that but having been on the lake itself on the solar boat it is exactly the same colour.l love the church about half way up well worth a visit just to see the paintings.

Makes for a wonderful day out. What a change from Benidorm. Little bodegas along the way all set in stunning scenery.
