Arrived with great expectations however disappointed as the attention to detail specially housekeeping is not there. Little things like forgetting shower gel , leaving servicing sign on the door, not cleaning under bed as I was looking for the TV guide found it under the bed. Walls in the room have marks on the walls specially around the area where you place the suitcase. Bed linen very creased . Food is good and service at mirador poll very good. La veranda in the morning is like a nursery so if you are looking for a quite breakfast not possible. This Orel is not for special occasion as you are surrounded with children most of the time .Rooms are not sound proofed.

Spent a week staying B&B at the Abama with a friend. It's paradise. You don't have to leave the grounds as its extensive and fun to explore. A very Morrocan feel to the decor and its all very photogenic. Beautiful from every angle. A fantastic selection of restaurants including two with Michelin star awards. We tried Kabuki. It was terrific!! see other my review. The hotel is big enough that you never feel overcrowded. Sometimes we were the only two at the pool. It felt very private. The spa is simply a fantastic experience. We had 3 sessions in the spa and some pampering treatments. Not cheap but all worth the money. Food in all the restaurants was faultless whether formal dining or more casual round the pool or at beach. There was complimentary water available at all the pools and gym (that you'll have to yourself) but if I'm being picky no complimentary fuit available in public spaces as I'd read prior to trip. We also took the yoga and pilates classes every evening that were complimentary to guests. The champagne available every breakfast made up for it!! Breakfast was normal hotel buffet style however the choice and quality of food and drinks available were the best I've see in any hotel at home or abroad. 10/10 for service too. The staff were attentive, helpful and friendly without being in your face. It all added to the relaxation. Our room, a twin, was at the side on the 9th floor. There was a little noise from the road but nothing to complain about. The twin beds were pushed together as a double. A little dissapointing as we had requested a twin specifically. Tecnically it was a twin but I'd have liked between the two singles. Huge bathrooms great shower. I'd have liked a go on the golf carts to explore the grounds and just for fun as we are not interested in golf. At 30euros a full day to hire it was a bit much. Especially as we would only have wanted half a day. That wasn't an option with one day hire minimum. We took a taxi to the Teide National Park. The advantage was we could pull our where we wanted to get great photos and a stop off at a supermarket to stock up some room snacks and drinks. 25Euro to go up the mountain on scary cable car. Worth it for the veiw. Going up live volcano was also on our bucket list. Note you can climb to the summit but will need a permit before you go up and will need good walking/climbing gear. Altitude makes your chest a bit tight too but not a problem if you are fit. Spectacular views!!!
It is expensive to eat and drink within the complex. Car hire would have been cheaper than taxi but to be chauffeured was more relaxing and we were on a chill out trip. Not much change from 2K all in but worth every penny. We arrived home bronzed, toned, and relaxed. Would go again in a second.

Room Tip: High floors great veiws and private for nude sunbathing! Twin rooms have two large single beds but o...

I haven't stayed at the abama, but visited to view it as a potential wedding venue last year. Despite my Spanish chief bridesmaid Liaising with the planner, with emails to prove it, she claimed we had no such appointment. She then left us waiting for 30 minutes.... We ended up walking out... Such a shame - it looked so beautiful and could have been idyllic... We will instead give the money to a hotel with much better service and who we can trust with the important task of managing our very special day...

What a wonderful meal. A brief outline of the ambient setting, serene, calm, elegant. Not to waste any more time on that area, as the service, attention to detail and FOOD need the greatest attention. A table d'hote taster menu of the wonderful A. la carte it to be advised. What diversity, charm, skill and inventivness. What imagination,,, and what an attack on the senses, sight, smell and TASTE. I can't remember how many wonderful little courses came forth, possibly eight or nine, with superb snippets of amazing. enchanting food all blending and complimenting. I was in seventh heaven. The one course which springs to mind came in a cloudy dome, once opened the blended smoke from three delicate woods, which i have now forgotten, exposed three small slices of rare beef (possibly Japanise) with a lovely jue and delicately roasted strip of peppers. The delight accompanied with a crumb or two of the fabulous selection of warm breads, my favourite being the gofio,( i compliment the Spanish Chef using local produce.) Also the local red wine from the north of the Island was superb. One of the favourite puds I recall was a wonderful licorice ice on a bed of pumkin and vanilla crossed by black olive sand, which tasted unusally divine. I am still reeling from this experience and will "dine out" on it for the next ten years. WONDERFUL. Thanks to the local press i discovered this gem.

Room Tip: Do go there ..............you wont regret it!

A big hotel where you can be so quiet as if you were alone. Specially for people who likes playing golf. Anyway you can enjoy a marvellously small beach with all kind of things to do! There is a funicular which takes yo to the beach. Seven swimming pools and 6 or 7 restaurants! Two of them with michelin stars.

Stayed here before Christmas. Perfect weather, sunny not too hot. Hotel was not busy, none of the problems that some other reviewers comment on. Stayed in one of the terraces below the main hotel, beautiful pool. Great service, from the concierge, main reception, restaurants and the pool/beach staff. Very nice private beach with breakwater to make the swimming safer, though on a rough sea day, can be quite challenging even for a strong swimmer. When calm, there are big rock pools to relax in as well. We had a buggie to get round the resort, would recommend that if available. All in, a brilliant hotel and 100% recommended.

Room Tip: Rooms on the terraces below the main hotel have their own pool and are quieter. Get a buggy to get...

We never usually stay in hotels but needed a treat and spent a wonderful relaxing week here in a suite with amazing westerly views.sunset was amazing. Nothing outside if the resort in walking distance but lots to do there. We had great fun driving round in the buggy, choice of pools meant we were always able to find a quiet spot. Fun playing Pool n beer in the bar, stupendous sushi in on one of the restaurants. Vey expensive though. Still recommend it if you have money n want to switch off.
