“Fun Experience, Good Food, Good Drink!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 2, 2013

Here's the 1,2,3s...
1. Massive barrels full of dry cider (not sweet) that you keep going back to drink while eating and socializing with your friends.

2. Lots of food and drink for around 30 Euros each. Fish, Meat, Bread, Cheese, etc. All great food.

3. Go there for a great experience. I posted a couple additional photos to show you what the action looks like on a busy night (something tells me it's always busy!).

“One of My Favorite Places Ever”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 15, 2013

I have been here twice; once ten years ago, and one this past year. Let me say that both times were fantastic! We had a variety of food, and the owner (or was it owner's son?) showed us all of the different stages of making the sidra. The fiance fell IN LOVE with the sidra, and although I am not a huge fan, it certainly is a unique and fun experience.

“A Favorite!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 1, 2013

I had high expectations for my experience here, which is always a dangerous thing, but happily, even those were exceeded. Lunch at Petritegi was truly one of the best meals of my life.

First of all, you need to know that sagardoa is very dry, and those looking for a sweet-style cider may be disappointed, as many in our party were. Still, going back to the huge cider barrels and filling your glass directly out of the stream is a terrific experience, and everyone should give it a try, even if the cider itself is not really your thing. Then you can switch to wine, which they have plenty of.

But the cider is not the only reason to come to Petritegi...the food is phenomenal. The beef we had was perfection--rare, tender, seasoned only with salt. We were lucky to have room for any beef after the huge selection of starters--bread, chorizo, bacalao tortilla--all of which were so delicious that we just could not stop eating, even though we knew our main course was still to come. And then at the end of the meal we really overdid it when the desserts came out--walnuts, manchego with apple membrillo, cookies. We literally made ourselves sick with all the food we ate...or maybe it was all the wine and cider. Either way, it was a meal worthy of Bacchanalian overindulgence.

Go here. Wear napkins on your head. Drink cider out of the barrel. Stay for hours and enjoy good company at the family-style tables. Stuff yourself on unbelievably good food. You will fall in love, like we did.

“Yes yes yes”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 17, 2012

We were there as a family, with no reservation.
Service was fast and efficient, they just seated us and proposed the "menu tipico" - it includes a few very tasty typical appetizers, some ashes-cooked super tender beef, great cheese, really all good. We also visited the "cave" and drinked some cider directly from the barrel.
Maybe, as a remark, cider produced here is a bit acid and not so great to accompany all the food - we just had it as a starter, then carried on with red wine.
Highly recommended.
Other note: they do not accept credit cards.

“Good place to go”

It's a nice place to go, but I have tried other "sagardotegis" and this one is not the best, although it's very good.
