One of those 'just by chance' restaurants... I caught a glimpse of the garden of El Jardinet as
we wandered the streets of Vic waiting for shops to open in the afternoon.
The garden area in the back was so very pretty and cool on a HOT day.
What a delight! What an amazing gazpacho... and believe you me we've
tried a lot and made our own at home. Superlatives don't do this lunch justice.
It was so out of this world... Starter - that amazing Gazpacho, Main course including wine and water, dessert, coffee.
For two 32 euros.... forgive me but this was just out of this world delicious and
such great value.
We ordered in Spanish, but you could do it in Catalan or English or French.
Totally memorable and such a memorable meal and delightful service.

A true gem at the heart of the old city, close to the main square and the market. Quite indoor and garden sitting options, great dish selection on the daily lunch menu (18 euro on a saturday, 3 course meal + water and wine). My paella was really to die for... and everything else was very satisfying too. Nice decor, fit for romance or a friendly meal.

We came for the day from Barcelona. We had found this restaurant through trip advisor and I am so happy we did. The service was incredible the food was incredible. We hope to be back during the festival in the winter. The server was super kind to our infant daughter and they had a highchair that strapped to the regular chair.
You really felt at home here, and the food was just so lovely. Perhaps we will need to head back again before the winter festival.

This is a jewel. Located in the old center of VIC, every detail is closely paid attention to. the decor is classic and has this little garden in the back (hence the name of the place), that is perfect for summer meals. It may seem at first it is a bit on the pricey side for Spanish standards, but the quality and presentation will make you feel you are getting a bargain. We ate their "menu". I highly recommend if you travel anywhere in Spain, to go this way. Menus comprise of a first, second course, dessert, bread and wine for a fixed price. You generally have 3 or 4 options to choose from for the three courses. In my case, I had the assorted cheese salad for the first course. I felt I was in the most luxurious restaurant, the presentation was impeccable, and the taste superb. Mixed greens were tossed with an olive oil, aged balsamic vinegar, topped with 3 different kinds of cheeses (goat, manchego, blue), walnuts, red peppercorns and sweetened apricots, creating this sweet and sour combination in my mouth. Second course was a perfectly grilled salmon, flaky, fresh, and very generous portion. I was good for dessert and had their fresh pineapple. all of this for a mere 16 euros. My family had the onion soup, which I had a taste of and almost regretted not ordering (at least until I had a taste of my own salad), and grilled meat with the most divine cabernet/ balsamic vinegar sauce reduction.
And the staff, so attentive, the owner is usually there, which I think always makes the experience that much more enjoyable. If you go to this charming medieval town, be sure to eat here, you won't be disappointed.
