This old castle is gradually being restored, and all the areas are being made into self catering apartments. The apartments are self contained, and well organized. There is plenty of space for families, and all mod cons. We stayed over Christmas, and it was warm and cosy inside and freezing outside. We spent a lot of time in the warm swimming pool, and the hot spring baths!! Then we cycled on the freely available bikes, which needed a little maintenance, but were quite usable!! The two dogs who met us were so friendly, and loved being with us when we went for walks in the grounds. All in all the best Christmas we have ever had!! Oh, and I am told (I personally don't drink) that the wine was excellent and there were fresh vegetables there for the picking!!

We stayed at this property because of the nice photos and good reviews. We were sorely disappointed because our apartment was outside the main courtyard of the castle and next to the garage for the farm equipment. It was enclosed on 3 sides by large cement walls and a fire escape. DEPRESSING!!! When we would walk to the pool and see the other apartments which faced the nice grounds, it made me feel worse. If you stay at this property, avoid our apartment, called Portico, unless you like looking at concrete. I can see that other people also complained about air conditioning. It is not very good, especially when you need it because it's 95 degrees outside. Apartment was also not very clean. Lots of dust under the beds and the bath mats looked like they hadn't been washed for a while. Wifi also very poor. Unfortunately I spent most of my time at this property trying to figure out ways to spend as least time as possible at the apartment. Not how I envisioned a week of my vacation. Perhaps staying in a different apartment at this property would have yielded a better experience but we were not able to change apartments.

We had the most amazing time at this meticulously kept castle. The moment you arrive you feel royal! The apartment we stayed it was stunning! Had everything we needed and made our vacation even more special. The wine Alessandro the owner produces is as stunning as his castle!! We had the time of our life's! Location was perfect also. Close to Venice, Bologna, Verona and Padua!

This is a beautiful place! High spec on the room facilities, clean, well stocked. There are free fresh eggs, vegetable garden, and an orchard that you can use. The pool is amazing - jets everywhere. There are also free bikes to use and some cute big dogs gambling about. I would definitely go again. The only thing that would improve this is more help getting to and from the Castello from the train station on arrival and departure.

Wonderful staff, excellent wine, incredible spa pool, wonderful service at the in house restaurant and great fruit and veg picked straight from the gardens! 7 of us stayed in the Gli Ulivi apartment last week and we couldn't find a bad word to say about the place.

The free rental bikes made it easy to get to and from nearby Battaglia Terme for supplies and the local train station made travel to Venice + Padova simple. If you are looking for a relaxing break out in the Italian countryside I can definitely recommend this place.

Also home to two of the cutest dogs ever :)
