My wife and I booked the 'Beach Guest House' after visiting Dunmore East some 3 years ago. The guest house is in a prime location in the resort and looks most impressive Our stay this July did not disappoint in anyway whatsoever. Breda and John were most helpful hosts. We were allocated room 6, a large bay fronted, en suite, room overlooking the beach and bay. (Words cannot truly describe the view.) The room was very well appointed, having a most comfortable bed, and was spotlessly clean. The breakfasts each morning were exceptional, an excellent choice of juices, cereal and fresh fruit and a well cooked filling 'FULL' Irish Breakfast. Thank you Breda and John for a most enjoyable stay and good advise for the short trip across the bay to the Lighthouse.
Good Luck to you both in the future. Should we return to Dunmore East we shall definitely book again.

We discovered "The Beach Guest House" by chance in Summer 2012 and had a quick stay. We were so impressed we returned again in July 2013. The location is absolutely stunning and the service was second to none.Room was spacious and clean, well furnished with everything you will ever need for a very comfortable stay.Breakfast was delicious in the dining room overlooking the bay. Hosts were most helpful and friendly despite being extremely busy and fully booked. We will certainly return again.

Room Tip: A room with a sea view is something special.

From the outset the man-of-the-house was rude in relation to where we would securely put our bikes even though we had phoned in advance and were advised that they could be locked in a shed (which turned out to be untrue). His poor attitude continued for the duration of our two night stay. The woman-of-the-house was equally rude. Perhaps we found them on a bad few days but their attitude was consistent to all clients as was evident from the breakfast room. We are Irish and found that it was particularly disappointing to holiday at home and encounter this. We both found it quite off-putting, unnecessary and took the shine off the otherwise exceptionally and uniquely beautiful location and vista from the bedroom and the wonderful breakfast. Unfortunately, the attitude put us off and we would neither stay again nor recommend it to others.

We booked 2 rooms. Both had harbour views and were a good size and had all the mod cons of a five star room. Breakfast was fine, all food freshly made and plenty of everything.

Couldn't find fault with the room. Hosts were friendly and helpful with local knowledge. We went for dinner at the Spinnicker Restaurant. Really fresh, tasteful food.

Will definately come back here.

The only negatives were the winding roads from Tramore to Dunmore East and finding the B&B initially.

We were planning to stay in Waterford, but Dunmore East was recommended as an alternative, and The Beach Guesthouse looked really good. As we only decided the night before, fortunately for us there was a room free. It was an excellent recommendation and choice. The position is superb, right at the sea wall, and the house is delightful. Welcoming and friendly hosts, comfortable room (great view) and bed, and a very good breakfast.

The Beach Guesthouse is a wonderful B&B right on the ocean. The owners welcomed us as if we were family. Our room was huge with large bay windows looking out on charming thatched cottages and the ocean across the street. It was sparkling clean and comfortably furnished. The bed was king-size comfort! Beautiful hardwoods throughout the room. We had a large, well appointed ensuite bathroom with a deep tub with shower. Big fluffy white towels were warmed on the towel rack. The room also had a flat screen TV, hairdryer, and some rooms had a balcony. Makings for coffee and tea was a welcome addition, especially on a cold and windy day. Wifi was free and available throughout the B&B. We were able to watch some surfers from our large windows as they braved the cold winds and high waves. Breakfast was included in our room price. There was a nice selection of cereals, juices, yogurt, and fruit. We were also invited to choose from a menu of hot items including sausages, bacon, eggs, blood sausage, toast, cakes, French toast and porridge.

A large parking provides plenty of room for guests to park, and there are several restaurants and pubs within walking distance. The Waterford Crystal Factory is a short distance north of the B&B, as is Tramore, another seaside town.

We have found the Irish people to be warm, friendly, interested in visitors and always available to answer questions and offer helpful travel information. We highly recommend The Beach House B&B in Lower East Dunmore on the southern coast of Ireland. You can't do much better than this!

So many people recommended for us to visit Dunmore East, while we didn't see a lot of the area we feel we stayed in the best location. It really is in the perfect spot. We stayed for one night with our 1 year old and couldn't be happier. We ate dinner at the local restaurant recommended by John. He entertained our son the next morning while we enjoyed a fantastic home cooked breakfast overlooking the water. Would definatley return.
John gave us great information about the area and traveling Ireland in general.

Room Tip: We were in a room with no balcony as we had our son, it was very comfortable and fantastic views, pe...
