First of all, thanks to trip advisor for finding this restaurant. Visitors like me need to know about places like this to totally stay away from.
We were traveling from Playa Salinitas, going back to San Miguel. I, my dad and my boyfriend did not get a chance to have lunch. Therefore we stopped at this place. It is an outdoor type of bar. It has benches type seating, nothing fancy at all about the place. Typical El Salvador type of "hang out". My mother went ahead and ordered 3 plates of fried fish with rice for the three of us. There were 4 adults and 2 children. We all ordered drinks and my boyfriend ordered one beer. My mother did not ask for the menu because she figured this food could not bee that expensive. After all, this was a typical "shack type of place". Well, she was wrong. At the end of the meal, we get a bill for a total of $78.00. Needless to say my boyfriend and I were furious. We were told that the fish plates cost $18.00 each. If you have been to Central America, you know that this is very expensive. This is what you would normally pay at a "top of the line restaurant in San Salvador". We asked to see the menu. Well, of course this was not listed on the menu. We were told that "the large fish" was not listed on the menu. To give you another comparison - We went to a beach in San Miguel (El Cuco). There were 5 adults and 2 children. The men drank so much beer and there were 7 orders of fried fish plates, seafood cocktails, soup, etc. We spent $68 for all the food and a LOT of beer that evening. It was getting dark and it was not worth the hassle or our safety to continue to argue with these people. This restaurant (I would not even call it a restaurant, it is a "shack" is located right off the main highway, off the coast and it is isolated. I would rather pay and get back on the road and know that I am safe with my family in tow! Stay away from this place!!!!!!!!!!!!!
