“Still as good as ever!”
Reviewed July 22, 2013

My wife and I have just returned from a lovely evening at Yorebridge House. We had our wedding here last year and wanted to go back, knowing it would bring back lots of wonderful memories. Yorebridge House didn't disappoint one bit.

On arrival the staff were very welcoming. We enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea before checking-in to our room. The room was clean, spacious and had everything we needed for our stay. The hot tub was fantastic and the iPod dock meant we could listen to a little music while we relaxed.

We both enjoyed the evening meal. The menu is a little limited with regards to options, but the food itself is excellent, as well as the service. This is great quality fine dining that doesn't feel snooty.

In the morning we had time for another quick splash in the hot rub before we went from breakfast. It's a great way to start the day and the place is so peaceful, just the sound of a few birds and the river.

Breakfast was delicious, relaxing and friendly.

We won't be waiting for another anniversary to return! Yorebridge House is a fantastic hotel located in a wonderful part of the country. If you are looking for somewhere to go that feels special, romantic and relaxing, this is the place to go. Tip: Pay the extra and get a hot tub room!

We recently stayed for 2 nights in the lovely Bainbridge room. Beautiful room with great views of the glorious countryside... Amazing bathroom too!
The service was excellent and all the staff were friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble.
Breakfast and dinner also very good, nice small menu but good choice and everything is sourced locally.
All in all a very romantic and relaxing stay... Thoroughly recommend!

Had the most wonderful relaxing two night stay for our 5th wedding anniversary. We wanted privacy, luxury, top class food and wine and friendly staff and we received all of the above and more. We stayed in the Barn which was stunning along with the main house and the grounds- the interior is also just as stunning and you feel nothing but welcomed by all the staff especially Jeremy - the restaurant manager, Damien the general manger and Kate on front of house, all of them chatted to us and recommended places to visit in the area. David the owner who we spoke to also was lovely.

The quality of food and drink is fantastic me and my husband agreed its one of the best meals we have had and as for the breakfast....... Well you won't be disappointed.

We can't recommend it enough we can't wait to return for another romantic getaway.

5* is truely what it deserved

Very good as everybody says. Verrrry expensive:

Pint of Peroni = £8. Assumed £10.95 gratuity added to the evening meal bill which irritated me.

Stayed in the Rahmourne Room. - great but you can hear the kitchen staff. The other rooms with a hot-tub are hidden but next to the car park; the place is very quiet so this isn't an issue.

I’m happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay at Yorebridge House and hope your girlfriend had a lovely birthday.

It disappoints me to read that you felt irritated by the service charge that had been added to you dinner bill. As explained on our menu this charge is optional and can be removed. I would gladly refund the £10.45 charge if you would like to contact me at the hotel on 01969 652060.

I’m confused why you have stated in your review that we charge £8.00 for a pint of Peroni as this is not that case and we charge £4.50. I have looked at your check out bill and the Bar charge was for £7.50 this was for two drinks a Peroni at £4.50 and a large bottle of water at £3.00.

I hope that we can welcome you back to Yorebridge House in the near future.

Kindest Regards

We have just got back from our stay at Yorebridge house and it was fantastic from start to finish. The hotel is set in beautiful surrounding's, the village of Bainbridge is picturesque with a lovely little local pub. The staff at Yorebridge were excellent, friendly and very attentive they couldn't do enough for us. The room was spotlessly clean and had a huge comfortable bed, Molton Brown product's were supplied and lovely fluffy robes and slippers.

We had an evening meal booked so we enjoyed cocktail's while deciding on our meal and wine choices, the food was presented excellently and tasted amazing every course was a delight, possible the best lamb I have ever had it just melted in my mouth, service was quick between course's but we did not feel rushed at any time and afterwards we finished our bottle of wine in the evening sun on the terrace.

Having such great weather during our stay we enjoyed the hot tub with a chilled bottle of champagne after our meal, the hot tub was a fantastic size set on a lovely court yard although a couple of potted plants and candles in the lantern's wouldn't go a miss, it was perfect.

Breakfast again was lovely with plenty to choose from food and drink wise and just the right sized portions with attentive and quick service again.

I would really recommend this hotel, it is very romantic and a great place to relax, unwind and just get away from it all, we will definitely be back to try another room, it was the perfect start to married life.

Room Tip: Book a room with a hot tub

My husband and I were married at Yorebridge House last September and returned at the beginning of July for a two night early-anniversary break. While in September we stayed in the main hotel, this time we tried out the new Barn, which has recently been converted by the owners and added to the hotel's available rooms; it is situated in the main village of Bainbridge, just a short stroll from the main hotel. The Barn has all the features of the luxurious hotel rooms at Yorebridge itself - tasteful and comfortable furnishings, a fabulous hot tub in a private courtyard, and a stunning bathroom with the best shower(s!) we have ever experienced. The added benefit of the Barn is the living area and kitchen, which allowed us to have one night in with a home-cooked dinner (local produce is readily available in lots of lovely local shops) and a movie (the Barn has a great 3D TV!), and one night to dine at the hotel. Dinner in the restaurant was really something - a thoughtful menu of locally sourced and beautifully presented dishes. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal, finished with a cheese board, port and a game of chess in the lounge. During our stay we enjoyed a great day hike in the Dales, leaving straight from our front door, as well as two really good day trips. The brewery tour at the Black Sheep Brewery in Masham was great fun and ideal on a drizzly day, and pretty accessible from the hotel. We also visited the village of Middleham, which is experiencing a bit of a revival at the moment due to Middleham Castle (an English heritage site), which was once the home of the Earl of Warwick and Richard III. Fascinating ruined castle, tons of history and a few lovely tea rooms in the area too.

All in all, we were looking for the full Yorkshire experience during our mini break and we got it all - five star room and hotel, beautiful food from dinner to full English breakfast, the usual great service we have come to expect from everyone at Yorebridge, and of course great walking, beer and history to boot!

It goes without saying - we shall definitely be back....

It was lovely to welcome you back to Yorebridge for your “early” first wedding anniversary.

I’m so happy to read that you enjoyed our new Barn and also got to experience a lot of what the Dales has to offer.

We look forward to welcoming you back soon

This hotel is very special and the standard of service is very good.

The only niggles were that we had booked bed and breakfast only but were booked in for the evening meal, when we questioned it we were told that they always book guests in. In fact we did decide to eat and the food was sensational. There was a somewhat surreal moment in the restaurant when the music playing was the Bee Gees, not exactly conducive of a romantic evening!

Breakfast next morning was very tasty but the service was slow, we watched our meals sit on the hot plate for about ten minutes and were on the point of getting them for ourselves when the waiter brought them over.

The room was lovely with lots of mirrors but none of them sufficiently near a light to be able to apply makeup (me) or shave (him).

It is a very nice hotel and I am sure we will stay again in the future.
