I came across Yorebridge House three years ago during a photographic commission for a major audio company. I always promised myself and my wife a visit to this charming hotel. It was simply everything we expected and more besides. I have had the opportunity in stopping at many first class hotels across the world and I would rate this as one of the most charming, family run hotels in Britain. The standards are impeccable, continue the good work. It was worth the 400 mile round trip!

Room Tip: The less expensive rooms are equally as good as the more costly.

We have chosen Yorebridge as our wedding venue next year and thought we'd treat ourselves to a night away to see what it was like. We were not disappointed! The room was amazing, staff so friendly and made you feel at ease, the food was amazing from the canapes they served with drinks to the breakfast the next day. It was all superb. We loved every minute of our staff and can't wait for our wedding next year when our friends and family can enjoy it all with us.

I think this may have been our fourth year at Yorebridge House, where we stayed for three nights to take in some walking in the beautiful Dales countryside. We chose a room in the annexe for the first time; as we expected, Jasper was stylishly decorated and featured a welcome hospitality tray with good quality teas and shortbread, although it is worth noting that there is no full-length hanging space or drawers, so is more suitable for a short stay. After a day on the hills (battling gale-force winds on this occasion), a hot bath is 'de rigueur', and like some previous reviewers, we did experience a problem with the bath tap in Jasper, which led to a plumber being summoned and us being moved to another room for one night. The problem was dealt with extremely efficiently by the Manager, Adam, and his staff, who assured us that the faulty tap would be replaced at the end of the season. The owner, David, arrived and settled us into another room, with the offer of a complimentary bottle of Champagne! A new chef had arrived since our last visit, but there was certainly no change to the consistently high quality of the food. It is interesting to see how the bar and restaurant menus have evolved over the years and are now quite distinctive. We tried both and loved every dish that we had (although I felt that an appetiser and an amuse-bouche before my starter was just a little more food that necessary). This hotel stands out from so many others because of its idyllic location, its consistently high standards and the friendly, helpful staff. The only thing we're never happy about is having to leave!

Well, where do we start...
Ben and I booked Yorebridge for our wedding and from the moment we had our first visit until leaving Yorebridge yesterday morning, the service has been absolutely amazing. Nothing has been too much trouble and whilst planning our big day over the last year, we have always felt nothing but confidence that our day would run without a hitch.
Yorebridge is simply a stunning venue and credit should go to the owners, Charlotte and David, who clearly have nothing but passion and pride for their hotel. The decor is gorgeous and each of the bedrooms are uniquely designed. During the wedding, we had the pleasure of staying in 3 of the rooms (Pienza, Greenwich and Rangali) and it's a struggle to pick a favourite. Having a hot tub room is the ultimate in luxury and indulgence; having experienced the hot tub under the stars with a glass of bubbly in hand, we are now of the opinion that everyone should own one. Spending a minimum of 2 hours in a hot tub should definitely be a part of every day life!
We picked Yorebridge to hold our wedding due to the instant homely atmosphere that we felt on our first visit. We didn't want a stereotypical wedding function room and wanted our wedding to have more of a "house party" feel to it - we were not disappointed!
The staff are all absolutely wonderful; very friendly and simply cannot do enough for you. It is apparent that they care about the guests and what they do. We have never seen such seamless and effortless teamwork demonstrated before and this was noticed by both ourselves, our parents and many of our guests. Even the owners were walking around and helping out on the day including serving our guests and generally making sure everyone was happy.
First and foremost, special mention needs to go to Kate (the events coordinator) who made everything go to plan on the day (even when the registrar was half an hour late!). Kate was on the ball with every little detail and if anything didn't go to plan, we certainly didn't notice it!
All of the staff were brilliant but we have to specifically mention Nathan who was an absolute super star - he made sure all of our guests had a drink in hand at every point throughout the day and he made us the most amazing Very Berry Daiquiri's on Friday night (one of his own creations). Nathan clearly knows his stuff behind the bar; we were very impressed!
We also wanted to say a big thanks to Megan who works on reception. Megan was always really friendly, very efficient, always had a smile on her face and couldn't do enough for us.
Sorry to those staff that we haven't specifically mentioned by name but everyone did an amazing job and made us feel like we were VIP's for the weekend.
The food = OUT OF THIS WORLD! We can't give enough credit and thanks to the head chef, Aaron, and his team. If Aaron hasn't been given a michelin star already, we want to know why not (and nominate him for 2!)! Both ourselves and a number of our guests are big foodies and the comments we heard after the wedding breakfast were of the highest praise. The lamb and beef were both cooked to absolute melt-in-your-mouth perfection and all of the meals were of the same high standard, which we imagine is not an easy task when catering for such a high number of people all at the same time. It wasn't just the wedding breakfast that was gorgeous, the breakfast and the meals we ate on Friday and Sunday (as well other meals we had on numerous trips to Yorebridge prior to the big day) were all to die for. Well done!
We are sad that it's all over however we now have the most incredible memories of our wedding day and are still buzzing with excitement at how perfect it was. We will definitely be returning time and time again and it's clear that both we and our parents now have a special affinity with Yorebridge house.
If you are considering holding your wedding at Yorebridge, going for a short break, having a meal in the restaurant or simply just a drink in the bar; don't hesitate any longer, just go ahead and do it as you will not be disappointed.
THANK YOU so much for an amazing day, it genuinely was the best of our lives and all the team at Yorebridge made that a reality and deserve a huge thank you. We simply cannot express how grateful we are, so a massive thank you again to Charlotte, David, Kate, Nathan, Aaron, Megan and the rest of the team. Hopefully we'll see you all again soon!x

Room Tip: All the rooms are amazing but the hot tubs are out of this world! Pienza was a really good room for...

A belated review, as it was last November (2010) when my girlfriend and I visited the hotel. We stayed for 4 nights, as the Dales is an area that we had not previously explored in detail. What can I say? A wonderful hotel in an amazing setting. We visited during a cold snap and I have to say, there is nothing better than sitting in a hot tub sipping champagne when it's well below zero outside. The staff were extremely accomodating and friendly and the food was excellent. Would I go back to the Yorebridge? Well, we have booked a return visit for November 2011 and very much looking forward to it. I might even convince Dave to have a cigar with me this time.

Observations (please note, this is constructive and 'not' intended as critical)

The room we stayed in (Nishiki) could have done with more lighting. It was a little dark at times and sorting this would be a quick fix.

The menu. The food was excellent, but there wasn't much variation during our stay. I think this is because the Yorebridge is geared towards couples staying for a couple of nights. Having said that, the chef was happy to create something 'off menu' which was much appreciated.

Room Tip: Go for a hotel room with a hot tub - you won't regret it!

Spent 2 nights in the Jasper room this weekend for my brother's wedding. Saw all of the rooms and they are all stunning in their own way. All of the guests were raving about how nice their rooms were, and the hot tubs got excellent reviews! In terms of our room, the bed was amazingly comfy, it was clean, cosy and the bath was out of this world!

The food was amazing both in the restaurant on the Friday night and for the wedding breakfast.

The staff at the hotel were all lovely, and accommodating everyone's needs. They made the wedding day run smoothly and we couldn't of asked for a nicer place or a more picturesque setting for such a special day.

Big thanks to everyone - we didn't want to leave on the Sunday morning. Will definitely come back for a stay in the future - maybe to test out all the other rooms!!

Stayed here for two nights for my boyfriends 21st birthday and it really is the most amazing hotel. From the moment you walk through the door to check in the staff are attentive and helpful in every way! We were given a tour of the main house then shown to our room which was Jasper. We watched a couple of DVD's from the extensive menu before we headed to the restaurant for dinner. Whatever you do whilst staying here DO NOT MISS THE FOOD! It was one of the best meals I have ever had, everything was cooked perfectly. On the second evening we were so tired from being out in the dales all day we ordered from the bar menu and had it delivered to our room which was lovely. Also the eggs benedict at breakfast was lovely!
Altogether I would recommend Yorebridge to anyone and everyone! It really is perfect! I would love to come back and try some of the other rooms!
