“Just Dropped In”
Reviewed August 29, 2013

I arrived evening with no reservation and was greeted with welcome smiles and managed to get a superior room. Room was great spacious and clean.Had a great 2 night stay only complaint is the lack of seafood on the menu, especially when situated on the coast. The fish that was available was fresh water Bream ( Tilapia ) which was muddy tasting. Overall good hotel and will be back.

In my opinion still one of the better hotels in Mombasa North Coast.
- Clean rooms
- Friendly service
- Plenty of variety in the restaurant
- Good all inclusive service
- Directly on Bamburi Beach
- Garden with pool and loungers.
- Free Wifi access in all the hotel
Going on to Mombasa North Coast: why stay anywhere else?

Room Tip: For an ideal holiday: ask a deluxe room, definitely worth the money , but the standard rooms are mo...

Nothings perfect in this World and its very easy to find faults with any hotel but this hotel is one of my favourites. Next month we will be returning for a three week stay at the Neptune beach for our third visit in the last year, having filled in the gaps with a couple of cruises and a burst of Spanish sun.
If its a beach break in Kenya your looking for the choice of hotels is huge with something to suit every ones taste. As I have said in my previous review, the reason I love this hotel is that it is small, on the beach, with good food and exceptional service. The ambience of the hotel is relaxed and quiet with some interesting evening entertainment. There are no lines of regimental sun beds at this hotel and no rush to leave the terrace restaurant after a good English breakfast, to get your towels onto a particular sunbed. Cosmos and Danson the pool attendants are there to ensure you are comfortably located in a garden location of your choice. Another influencing factor when choosing a hotel is the transfer time from the airport , there are some very good hotels in Kenya but transfer times can be as much as three hours, not for me after such a long flight. Can't wait to see all our old friends again, including the beach boys.

I was there sometime in may and we really enjoyed the place. The service was excellent, the food was excellent and the room was above excellent. I would go to that same hotel anytime so that you very much for the hotels manager.

Room Tip: The south side rooms were good because of the quietness and privacy.

I have lived in kenya all my life, i used to come with my family to mombasa quite often back in the day, but recently haven't traveled. This time we decided to go to mombasa for out holiday and found some good rates oh another hotel, but surely enough there were no other guests in the other hotel. It was literally miserable. We then found this hotel the very next day, with welcoming smiles and affordable rates, we moved in the same day. The food was amazing, its got a sort of new life to it, one staff member will play an african drum as the dinner bell, the cleaners are extremely kind and will not mess about with your personal belongings and the rest of the staff are generally very accommodative. Everyone is always happy and has a smile on their faces. The hotels structure gives the feeling that is was built like a palace. The swimming pool is nice and the beach is only a few footsteps away (from the swimming pool). Every night they have a different piece of entertainment for the guests, from the staff doing a traditional african dance to one playing the guitar whilst another sings.
Overall one of the best hotels i have stayed in.

Room Tip: The sea view are slightly more expensive than the standard rooms but all are amazing.

I couldn't think of any negative things about this hotel. The staff were friendly and very responsible More importantly, everythig is included in your hotel fee (breakfast, lunch, dinner, tea& coffee by the swimming pool at night) which is rather affordable.

Returned to Sentido Neptune at the end of May for two weeks. Booked the flight and hotel
through Thomsons but the hotel booking was actually with Cosmos. It is actually the only
hotel on the North Coast that I would stay at apart from Travellers Beach. The end of May
and early June is still in the low season. To my surprise there were approximately six
guests in the hotel. It did gradually increase over the two weeks = maybe up to 20 guests.
The two hotels next door to it were not very busy either.

We got a good reception and a nice room on the first floor - the only floor that was being
used. The room steward was very attentive and kept the room spotless. The bed linen
was changed very regularly and the towels were changed every day. There was always
hot water.

Because there were so few guests the staff worked one week on and one week off which
obviously was a serious financial loss to them. Despite this they always smiled and
looked after guests extremely well at reception, dining room and bar. The staff on
reception were excellent especially Duncan.

The breakfasts were very good - the usual English breakfast but also pancakes. Lunches
and dinner were from a menu and the only buffet was the salad bar. There was a choice
of three starters, three main courses and several desserts. Altogether we had no
complaints about the choice of food, the quality and the service. However sometimes we
were the only two in the dining room for dinner and lunch - occasionally we would be
joined for lunch by a monkey making a quick raid on the dessert table. One night we
were alone in the dining room with three staff and two musicians. It was a bit weird.
It was the same in the bar at night and it was a shame for the entertainment provided at
night when there were so few people there.

The staff are really quite wonderful and very appreciative of tips and small gifts e.g.
tee-shirt, etc. There were many monkeys about and one day when I came back to the
room there were three inside helping themselves to food. They are very clever - the
balcony door had been shut but not locked and they obviously know what to do with
the handle. The rooms had excellent and quiet air conditioning.

I will return again to Sentido Neptune but a bit later on in the season. I understand
that it will not be a Sentido hotel very soon but I am sure the quality will remain the
same.

Room Tip: I think all the standard rooms are the same but they also appear to have some superior and larger r...
