Home away from home i must say. shangwe tele ..right from the moment you enter the gate..security guards to the reception..wooh!..woow...wow..! wait a minute did i mention those three pretty guest relations ladies with their beautiful smiles? apart from being polite and modest, wanaongeza ladha kweli and without forgetting the man himself Edgar, thumbs up. Rooms are clean not just clean spackling clean , spacious with all the amenities talk of aircon, dstv, internet connection....man! what more can i say? getting real value and more 4 your money. and yeah a king size bed guess what for the 5 nights i spent there i used to wake up feeling like a superman! Talk of top class service with equality, i doubt if Mswati ever gets such and ooh! my..ooh! my. the sports bar where one can quench thirst or water his/her gills is amazing. with some cool, soothing music that will make you feel "yeah am on cloud nine. the karrier hockey....eeeeh! i being told it is "Karaoke" night will just blow you away. though located a few meters from the beach i don't think that should be an issue give the security within that vicinity is good plus alittle walk won't do any harm, just a bit of a healthy exercise i guess. simply put i recommend this hotel to everyone, anyone, anywhere, anytime . KAHAMA the true spirit of Kenyan Hospitality.

I must say that I visited a five star and a three start hotel just next to you Kahama and I thought the star ratings should change. Kahama has the best reception and general services compared to the other hotels nearby. Being a local guest, I was less regarded in those other hotels..yet I gave among the best tips. Kahama treats everyone with dignity and respect. This is a place to stay and feel the Kenyan hospitality. Thanks Kahama.

Taking our cue from the Lonely Planet Kenya guidebook, our group of 23 youth and adults descended on the hotel with little notice. The staff took everything in stride and were able to accommodate us with a minimum of fuss. Eight of the group were in the nearby apartments (four to a room) and enjoyed a wonderful view of the ocean. The others were scattered throughout the hotel.

We had a busy schedule, so spent little time at the hotel. Our comments are therefore based on the accommodation standard (great), breakfast quality (good and timely), staff interaction (excellent), value for money (terrific) and location (good... and a five minute walk from the highly-rated Yul's restaurant just down the beach).

Our only comments: the hotel is not located on the beach and beach access at night requires some walking in unlit/partially lit areas. Group check-in took a significant amount of time, as very detailed information was required for each member of our group.

In summary, though, this hotel was a great choice for us and we recommend it highly.

This is the 3rd year in a row we have chosen to stay at Kahama Hotel. The staff are very polite and warm, that is a great plus. Will always stay at Kahama's coz of that.
The rooms are lovely and spacious but please, please change the TV's and the update the channels. We also need bathroom slippers in the rooms. I didn't like the duvet that was provided, get other better looking duvets. In case it gets cold at night..
I would like to suggest that you also offer the full coastal dishes e.g. pilau, biriani, wali wa nazi, instead of giving us the same old foods we have in Nairobi. I rarely have meals at the hotel because they don't have what we want. Overall i will recomend the hotel to anybody who wants value for their money. Keep it up.

Room Tip: All rooms are great.....

The first time I decided to go to Kahama, it was after I saw their advert on the Daily Nation, back then they were charging Kes. 1,750.00 (only!!) per person sharing per night. So, me and my business partner who were there from Nairobi on business spent two nights there - total value for money considering the reason we were there in the first place. I have been there 3 more times and I also have been to some apartments in Shanzu, Mikaye, stayed at Royal Court in town and also stayed at a nearby facility called 'Papillon', my review is therefore based on all those experiences.

Obviously the prices have gone up considerably and I would understand that as a business there is only so far you can go to fully satisfy the customer and remain a budget hotel. Good things first, the location is great just after Nyali Nakumatt, the idea of having REAL maasai's as part of customer service is excellent, the ambience is great, the finishes are good, the room space and set ups ample and the general level of cleanliness is very good. On the down side, the proximity of the sports bar to the rooms makes for noisy nights, due to the pricing the places always experiences pressure in terms of bookings and as a results the attendants keep calling to ask for confirmation, even if you booked 2 weeks to the day... this calling doesn't stop even after you arrive (I was having dinner in town when I was called to confirm whether I will still go back to the room!). The swimming pool provided a great way to relax (remember the low pricing) and the food is ok given the pricing. Even then, it's proximity to various nice eating places helps alot. The crew is quite good, from the maasais to the receptionists etc.

Overall, if you are in Mombasa on business or short non vacational stays KAHAMA IS THE PLACE TO BE!

Room Tip: Rooms further away from the sports bar are quieter at night!

Stayed for five days,as usual its value for money, love the fact rooms are very clean.

T.v in room is crap could do with updating the package and get a flat screen probably from the restuarant and get proper aerial for quakity.

Breakfast was average chipolatas were served instead of sausage and toast needed to be properly done.

Overall i will recomend the hotel as all the above can be fixed.
