We stayed for a weekend break and, despite the awful weather, had a lovely time! Cottage in a great location for Kinder Scout and many other scenic walks.
I visited here with my wife and our 2 sons (aged 11 and 2). It was a last minute booking for our wedding anniversary and it certainly didn't disappoint. The cottage itself is beautiful, it's lovely and cosy with a really homely feel. Gill is a very friendly lady who made sure our stay was perfect. There were lots of books, dvds, games, cds- you name it, Gill has thought of it! We woke up on the morning of our anniversary to the gorgeous view out of our bedroom window with the added bonus of a very picturesque sprinkling of snow. The area has plenty of pubs, cafes and places to walk. It's perfect for people who love exploring. We had a fabulous time, we couldn't have asked for more.
If you are after some quiet time, a chance to hide away from your busy life, some amazingly stunning scenery even in the middle of winter and a well-kept well-equipped cottage for your stay, this is the place. Highly recommended location, cottage and owner.
We had a great weekend in Kinder Path cottage. Really comfortable and cosy. The wood burner was wonderful and the cottage was well equipped. In a fantastic location in Hayfield. Loved it!
Stayed in this cottage for 2 nights in November. You wouldn't have known it was Autumn though, with excellent heating and a woodburner. The cottage is very well equipped for comfort and entertainment, and Gill even leaves a sizeable stash of biscuits to snack on whilst playing games/ reading the books/ watching the films/ taking in the views!
Very well located for Kinder Scout and the wider Peak District. Even though the weather wasn't with us, this still made for a pleasant and easy-to-follow walk.
Gill's contact throughout was superb and we would definitely recommend it and like to return to her cottage for longer in the future!

I stayed here as a last minute addition to the guests already staying and Gill was more than happy to accommodate me. My Brother and Sister in Law were going to a wedding and chose this cottage as a base. You could want for nothing, it was beautiful, clean and spacious with everything you could need for your stay including toys and books for the little ones. We left some bedding there and it was no trouble for Gill to send it back. Would definitely recommended to anyone visiting Hayfield you won't be disappointed. Thanks again Gill from 'The Hardcastles' x
I have stayed in Hayfield a few times but this was my first stay at this cottage. When I arrived the owners had kindly provided milk, fruit, tea coffee and biscuits which was nice and unexpected. The cottage was spotless and the beds are comfortable. The kitchen is fairly well equipped and the internet worked. Well positioned for plenty of circular walks. I would stay here again.
