A lovely location- peaceful and beautiful. We enjoyed watching the peacock, birds and rabbits each day! Perfectly placed for several great walks, especially around Kinder Scout. Very spacious and comfortable, good wifi if you wanted to use it. Walking distance (half hour) to Hayfield where there are a few pubs.

We enjoyed a most wonderful Christmas week in the Gamekeepers Cottage. We loved learning the history of the crescent and appreciated the lovely renovation that has recently been done to the cottage. My grown children joined me - 4 of us were comfortable staying there and 2 more who live nearby joined us for meals, movies and family time around the fire.
We took breathtaking walks from the gate of the Peak District just behind the cottage as weather permitted. We'll have great memories of our week there.

Just returned from a short break in the Peak District staying at the Gamekeeper's Cottage. Can't praise the accommodation highly enough, it was exactly what we were looking for - a characterful cottage but with all mod cons.
Beautiful property with fabulous wood burning stove which was lovely to come back to and light after a day out. Free wifi was welcome too to help us plan each day's activities.
There is a lovely walk right from the doorstep up to Kinder reservoir and then back down into Hayfield village. There are some great pubs nearby and lovely towns and villages a short drive away which are worth a visit such as Buxton and Bakewell.
We will be recommending this property to family and friends and hope to be back soon!
The Gamekeepers Cottage is a wonderful 'retreat' in the beautiful Derbyshire countryside. The cottage is stylish and yet cosy with ample space for our family of 5 (2 adults and 3 children aged 6,8,10).It was great being able to walk right from the front door to Kinder Scout and we enjoyed a long but picturesque cycle ride on the Monsal Trail (near Bakewell). Stanage Edge is definitely worth visiting with stunning views and is very manageable for smaller children. The Heights of Abraham (in Matlock Bath) is quite a drive away but worth the visit especially with the cable cars. Our children loved the farm and adventure playground at Chatsworth. This was a great base for a wonderfully active but relaxing family holiday. Thank you very much.

A carefully restored and beautifully situated gem in the middle of peaks. All the home comforts you could need and surroundings in which we could have spent months. A very friendly owner and we really couldn't fault anything about the accommodation or location.
Hope to visit again.

Had a really great few days in Little Hayfield. The location is incredible and we were able to walk straight from the cottage.
Was great to come back to the comfortable cottage, light a fire and relax. On another night we tried out the pubs in Hayfield village which are very accessible and really homely.
Can't wait to find time to come back again, maybe with more people as the property had lots of space.
We booked this cottage at really short notice for a weekend break with our new baby son. The cottage is in a beautiful setting, the middle of the woods, with baby ducklings and a resident peacock. The cottage is really well appointed and immaculately clean; it was much more spacious than we imagined and really cosy. It was excellent value for money.
There are lots of great walks from the cottage door; a fabulous place to get away from it all!
Thank you very much!!
