This is a lovely Cottage in Hayfield. Great location and a lovely pub up the road too. Myself and my Partner stayed for a couple of nights with our border collie. Great location for walking the Peaks! Would recommend.
Lovely cottage pleasant village some great pubs and tremendous scenery and walks. Top marks all round.
We booked this cottage for a 5-day vacation, and I'm very glad we did! Hayfield is a beautiful village, with several friendly pubs, and we were able to use the local bus service to get to many nearby locations (Lyme Park and Buxton in particular). The Snake Path, with access to Kinder Scout, is literally right up the cottage's driveway, which was amazing! The peaceful Sett Valley trail is also nearby, linking up with the larger town of New Mills. The cottage itself was clean and cozy, with a kitchen stocked with all the useful gadgets and with a nice collection of DVDs for relaxing in the evenings. Lorna was very kind, providing yummy crisps and biscuits upon check in, and even letting me have a package sent to the main house when my converter plug gave out. I would highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking for some good hikes and nearby culture sights--I hope we can go back someday!
We stayed at Craigmore cottage over second half of the Easter holiday weekend. It is a cozy place, very comfortable and adequately furnished, in a quiet and very cute village of Hayfield. Hosts were great and very helpful. There was a load of information and pamphlet provided in the cottage for us to plan our stay in the Peaks, a good collection DVDs to watch were also provided, but we never got around to watch any because we were out walking, hiking, and clicking pictures of the beautiful sceneries - snake path upto Kinder Scout starts right outside the cottage.
We highly recommend staying at this cottage, also taking hike upto the Kinder Scout, drinks at the Sportsman, dinner at the George, and breakfast at Millie's Tea room.
Lovely little cottage great for walks just what we wanted visiting relatives so nice to have a little place to come back to
A small but cosy cottage, which was well situated for us to do the Snake Path walk around Kinder Scout. The cottage was well equipped and very near several good pubs that served great food and were pet friendly. A very enjoyable short break.
A lovely, well equipped cottage, with stunning views in a friendly and picturesque village setting. Really great for a weekend escape. Lorna was helpful and the choc and crisps was a nice touch after a busy day of walking. Our dog settled down straight away - he loved it also! Bed comfy, shower powerful etc. etc. 100% recommend and we will be re-booking!
