El Zarape has been a family run favorite of the local people for some time. The food is good, plentiful and reasonably priced. The service is fast and efficient. What's not to like? We pop in frequently with our friends.

This place has the BEST chicken soup in town! Yes, chicken soup with a mexican food flare. You have got to try it. Staff is pretty friendly also.

The place is very clean.

Portions are plentiful and not too salty or greasy like some places.

I will definitely try this place again.

The first thing you notice is the cleanliness of the restaurant. One-half has booth sitting with tables for the other half. Your drink order, chips and salsa are quickly done and you're given time to encounter a well-designed menu. The fare varies from appetizers, I personally recommend Pico de Gallo, queso, or homemade flan for dessert.

The lunch menu is very reasonable with fajitas, burritos, Chili Reno, Tacos, the best bowl of chicken soup in town, enchilada, quesadilla, as well as a wonderful Taco Salad. Many priced under five dollars for combinations and a great a'la carte selection.

The dinners vary from combination to elite meals with freshly prepared pork roast for the Chili Verde', ribeye steak for three and one American steak dinner. The seafood is limited to shrimp from a cocktail to major shrimp entrees cooked in special sauces. The chicken variety is also robust and is prepared in many different ways. Dinner entrees vary in price from the burrito Deluxe with beef tips for under six-dollars to Tacos de carne asada for only eight dollars.

Parking is available in three areas, which is important because El Zarape' is very popular. I have eaten at this restaurant for years and have never had reason to complain, send food back, or had incidents where alcohol was a problem. They encourage families, couples, it tends to noisy at the tables but the booths can handle conversations and they can handle groups up to 12.
