Bring your Hiking Shoes as you will want to climb this place. What a natural wonder and a truly amazing place for a fortress. The views from up on top are amazing. The way the fortress uses the available rock formations is just crazy construction. It is not a large fort but a fortification for a small force, mostly used to watch over the town and the river. Also for spotting transports to collect taxes. As we were leaving the fog came in so thick that it totaly hid the fortress. It is a must see but you truly need to be able to walk over rough areas and if you want to go up it is a climb up ladders and then over some boulders. The veiw form up top is well worth the climb.

This is one of the most well preserved medieval remains in Bulgaria. Situated on part of the famous Belogradchik rocks, the whole place looks enchanted. A lot of history is hidden here, so take a guided tour.

We’ve got a very nice weather, so we were able to have a nice walk. It might be good to look for a guided tour if any offered /not much info available on the spot/. Parking is convenient /2.40 BGN, 1.20 EUR/.
The entrance for the fortress is 6 BGN, 3 EUR.
