“Discover the real Mexico - Hotel Los Arcos, Banamachi, Mexico”

Hotel Los Arcos Sonora was everything you could want for a vacation spot. The courtyard and covered veranda with it's warm sunshine and cool shade filled with the scent of the giant lemon tree and flowers made you know your vacation and relaxation had started. Every room is unique, roomy and comfortable. Tom and Lynn are the perfect hosts, advising on all the attractions and sights that Banamichi and nearby towns had to offer. From back roads, local cuisine, the hot springs and nearby missions... we only scratched the surface and can't wait to get back. And let's not forget the fresh pizza backed in the custom fire breathing dragon pizza oven in the back yard. What a great way to experience the real Mexico.

Room Tip: Any room would be a good choice. All are quiet, roomy, clean, beautiful decorated and furnished. M...

We knew from the minute we entered the courtyard this is where we would be staying. The room was beautiful decorated and comfortable. The courtyard is an art gallery in itself. We sat and visited with Tom and Lynn and felt like we were visiting with old friends. We continued our travels the next day and actually returned to spend another night. Secure parking, clean comfortable accommodations, enchanting decor, you couldn't ask for more. Tom and Lynn have not seen the last of us!

Review of Hotel Los Arcos, Banamachi, Mexico
Excellent!! This is my second stay at the Hotel Los Arcos in Banamachi. Tom y Lynn Matthews are the perfect hosts. They greeted us warmly when we arrived on our motorcycles. Parking is in a secure, closed in area right behind the hotel. We were greeted by the smell of jasmine in the air as we entered the courtyard filled with flowers, plants and trees. Even though the weather was hot outside in the sun, it was cool in the courtyard. Lynn had the cervezas we had requested be there when we arrived nice and chilled. Tom made us pizza (from home made dough he had ready) in the “dragon” a wood fired oven in the outside area where our motorcycles were. We laughed and talked and moved our luggage into our rooms. Each room has a name. Mine was upstairs and beautifully furnished with Mexican tile in the tub and a colorful Mexican sink. Plenty of hot water in the shower! We walked around the town under a star filled sky. There is a square and church and government buildings in the center of town that is so typical of Mexico. In the morning Tom fixed us French toast and bacon and the coffee pot is always on. I would love to go back and stay longer some time. It is only a half day ride from the border through some beautiful mountain twisties to get there (and a few vados along the Ruta Rio Sonora).

We had a very comfortable and relaxing time during our stay at Los Arcos. It has a great atmosphere, from the time you enter the courtyard.
Its a good place to unwind from your daily sight seeing adventure and we enjoyed spending our 33 year wedding anniversary there.
Tom and Lynn are very pleasant and accomidating to anything you might need. We are looking forward to staying there when we do our next Mission tour.
Great place to call home on the Rio Sonora.

Lynn and Tom Matthews treat their guests as valued friends, going above and beyond with things like sending our group on a picnic to nearby thermal springs complete with the makings of fajitas and all the trimmings. Each of the ten rooms is furnished with comfortable beds, beautifully made local furniture, and antique pieces from their own families - a pleasing aesthetic that is far from the usual bland hotel look. Did I mention the food? Authentic Sonoran - wonderful! Banamichi is a beautiful very small town full of lovely welcoming people - quiet, clean, and safe - a great place for all ages.

Tom & Lynn Matthews, hosts of Hotel Los Arcos de Sonora, aim to please, are super friendly & excellent hotel managers. They have a dedicated, friendly staff. Meals consist of typical Sonoran fare. The decor of both the common areas & individual rooms is Mexican & delightful. Our small group was there for an intensive Spanish language study & this hotel, located in the small pueblo of Banamichi, was the perfect setting for this purpose. The Matthews & their staff went to extreme efforts to ensure a comfortable stay in quiet surroundings.

Room Tip: Rooms are on 2 floors, the second accessible by stairs. Since the town of Banamichi is quiet except...

Our trip along the Rio Sonora was highlighted by an overnight stay at Los Arcos. Tom and Lynn are delightful hosts and the accommodations are beautiful. The bed was especially comfortable after the firm beds usually found in Mexico. We found the furnishings and decorations to be personal to the our hosts and enjoyed a warm chat in the courtyard one evening.
