“relaxing stay in a wonderful Provencal village”
Reviewed August 22, 2015 for a stay in August 2015

A very nice, relaxing stay in the upper part of a 3 storey village house, built into a hillside (so single aspect) with its own terrace, pool, and entrance.
British owners Mark & George are resident on site.
Compact accommodation was ideal for our limited holiday needs. Bed on an upper mezzanine level. Bathroom and kitchen off the lower living/ dining space. No tv or microwave. Wifi available.Terrace dining also and pool a bonus, even if you can't swim. Sun loungers were nice. All enclosed behind stone wall /gates.
Gorgeous stone-built Provencal hill village with a restaurant,a pizzeria within walking distance and a shop for daily provisions a short walk away. Pretty much everything we needed for a short stay.
Parking about 100m away.
Uzes just a few minutes drive away. A fantastic medieval town with plenty to do,and Nimes and Pont du Gard / Avignon not far away by car. Arles (van Gogh) too.
All in all just what the doctor ordered.

“Met all expectations and more.”

An extended 31 day stay is a good test for a holiday rental, and Maison du Rocher in St. Siffret passed with flying colours under all headings.
The location is ideal; only 10 mins. from Uzes and a short drive to a host of beautiful towns and villages, including Avignon, Nimes and Arles, and also convenient to the Pont du Gard, the Camargue and many beaches.

When not sightseeing we enjoyed the sunshine on our terrace and had our pool if we got too hot. Our studio gite had every convenience and was very comfortable, quiet and private. At the same time, our hosts, who live adjacent, were accessible, friendly and most helpful, but in no way intrusive.

The restaurant in the village, three minutes walk from the gite provides excellent food and has quality live music on alternate Saturday nights.

What more could one ask? Oh yes! The sun did shine every day.

“Wonderful escape in beautiful surroundings”
Reviewed September 30, 2013 for a stay in September 2013

We loved our stay in the flat at Maison Rocher. It is on the side of the main property where the owners stay but very private. It has its own large patio with wonderful views and use of a large swimming pool (it was a bit too cold to swim, but in summer this must be delightful). The owners were very welcoming and really made us feel at home. It was in fact so easy to deal with Mark Nixon from the beginning - he always tried to be as accommodating as possible. The kitchenette is very well-equipped and the open design of the flat is great. Everything was very clean and tastefully decorated. St Siffret is a great base from which to explore the surrounding towns and it was just wonderful to go home to a very quiet place where you could relax after a busy day out. I will recommend this to everyone - great value for money and would certainly go back if I ever get the chance!

“A perfect holiday”
Reviewed August 19, 2013 for a stay in August 2013

A stunning house in a beautiful location. Six of us have just spent a wonderful week relaxing in this lovely property. Spacious, full of character and unusual features, it exceeded my expectations. Something for everyone - the kids spent hours in the pool (deep enough for diving into) and playing hide and seek in all the nooks and crannies, the sun terrace for sunbathing or relaxing in the shade of the parasol, comfy seats under the stone arch to enjoy reading in the cool shade, a cosy lounge with tv and more importantly for teenagers, wifi, a big table under the arch for outdoor eating and well-equipped kitchen(s) with barbecue. The village itself is beautiful and so is Uzes only a short drive away. Would recommend the friendly pizzeria, a short walk down the hill past the sunflower fields and kayaking down the Gardon from Collias to the Pont du Gard. Would love to go back.

Thank you for sharing your property with us, as it's a fantastic place to relax and recharge the batteries! Based in a lovely wee village but near enough to visit the busy and beautiful local markets and cities of Provence by car if you feel the need to see lots of people.
