“Cook needs more lessons”
Reviewed November 2, 2012

Hard to find once in the sea of poker machines, had to ask for directions. Once inside you're presented with a tired decor. I ordered a scotch fillet with prawns atop and my wife Chicken Kiev. After placing the order and walking back to the table, the meals arrived about 2 minutes later! So much for resting the steak. The steak was tender but tasteless, so typical of supermarket meat nowadays. My wife's chicken hadn't been heated properly with the butter still solid inside it. For the price the meals were rubbish and we both left half ours behind.

“Average”
Reviewed September 28, 2012

Meals were more like home made rather than Restaurant quality. Expected more and meals were quite pricey for what was presented to you.

“Okay restaurant, good prices, average food”
Reviewed September 26, 2012

Convenient if you staying at Club Mulwala, and not very expensive. Food is of average quality. I have eaten here several times, but don't have a favorite item. If you stay at Club Mulwala you get a 10 percent discount off the menu prices. Sunday breakfast buffet is great, with many choices.

“Average and overlooked "English-style" food.”
Reviewed July 10, 2012 via mobile

Friendly service. Serves steak (ask for medium & get it beyond well done on Monday's "Steak Night"!), large serves of pasta, & uninspiring overcooked "American-style Ribs". No salad bar. Also on the menu: Chicken Kiev, calamari rings - enough said.
Expensive wine list (2.5x Dan Murphys price for same Australian bottle of red wine!).
Lots of locals with membership/credits cards present. Obviously popular with the many older locals present that night.
Best avoided if you want a non-cremated steak.
Gloomly dark green walls room setting for the restaurant at night (but add plenty of flourescent lights) in a building dominated by multiple Pokies rooms. Wouldn't survive in an urban environment but crowded with mostly older overtly cost-conscious locals on "Monday Steak Night" when we visited.
Much better steak and a self-serve salads bar, in a much less claustraphobic environs, at more cost (same steak $30 at YGC vs $24 at Mulwala RSL), is available at Yarrawonga Golf Resort, in the same week in July 2012.

“Not Quite There”
Reviewed June 3, 2012

Visited in late may 2012. Just a place to eat as regards the Food/service.A tiny bit expensive considering it is a RSL restaurant. If you are visiting the RSL suggest you use ther Chinese Restaurant downstairs (Oriental Pearl) which is much better value in all respects, Breakfast at Al Fresco is however very good but go elsewhwere in the evening.
