We stayed 2 nights in May2014, enjoyed our stay very much. Friendly greeting on arrival, all staff had a can do and friendly attitude, nothing was too much trouble. Room; clean, bright and airy with a comfy bed.
Bar area; neat and comfortable with a stone fireplace and log stove ready for the colder nights. Restaurant area; well set out and well furnished. Food; generous portions and excellent. Happy to pass details on to friends and hope also to return ourselves at some time.

Called in today when food wasn't due to be served but happy to take our order if selecting light bites. We all selected different options and all were very high quality, tasty and extremely substantial. Would recommend the plougmans my son enjoyed. TThe hotel itself is very well kept and we intend to call again but to stay over next time.

We've been to this pub a few times whilst staying in Redmire in the past couple of years. Always a warm welcome, especially when the fire is going, friendly staff and locals, good choice of drinks and the food is great. Alway's a nice selection of specials to complement the evening menu using locally sourced fresh ingredients where possible, cooked to perfection and served with a smile even when the place is filled to the rafters and the staff are working flat out. Well worth a visit!

We were on our way to Leyburn for lunch and passed this little pub and as it looked so inviting, we turned back. Good decision! It was very busy and full of atmosphere and the service was good. The food was just excellent - perfect steak and ale pie with a proper suet crust (none of you puffy empty tops here!)
served with boiled potatoes (chips if you want) and loads of perfectly cooked veg. My partner had the lasagne which he also enjoyed. I dont think I have ever been as 'stuffed' in my life!

We will definitely be back.

We stayed for 1 night at very short notice. Our room was lovely; spotlessly clean, warm, cosy and quiet. The owners were very friendly and welcoming and we were made to feel at home straight away. We ate at the pub in the evening and had a delicious meal of what was clearly home cooked food. The young waiters were extremely efficient and very polite and friendly. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this lovely village pub and we will most definitely be back!

We stayed nearby but not wanting to cook, ate at the Bolton Arms. The food was superb and great value. Really good choice too. The beer was one of the best pints I've had too. The atmosphere was good, with locals and tourists mixing and being very friendly. On one evening the restaurant was fully booked but the hosts fitted us in for food in the bar without any trouble. Highly recommended and hope to try staying here at some time in the future.
