“Essence of Italia”
Reviewed December 1, 2012

My girlfriend and I recently stayed at our first B&B and not knowing what to expect we were both hopeful of a pleasing experience. Our choice of a B&B was focused on three things. First, it had to be in Italia. Since we currently live in Munich, we wanted to select a place close enough for a long weekend, yet it had to have all the things we enjoy. Second, the location had to be near an area of shopping and beautiful senery. And lastly, it had to be reasonally priced as we already have a vacation planned to Cancun in Jan.

Well, after looking on the internet we found B&B Pegaso through AIRBNB website. The listing was exactly what we were looking for; great location and price. We quickly sent an email regarding availablility for the coming weekend, extremely short notice, and within 15 min we had a response back confirming their availability. Since I was concerned about sending my Visa No. over the internet, I was quickly given a contact number to call. Completely painless and gave me confidence about my decision.

Now, B&B Pegaso is set in a very quiet location between Lake Garda and Verona in well restored farm home nesseled in a vinyard. The location is perfect for traveling to both areas for day trips and both offers great shopping, beauty and history, and yes the food.

The owners of B&B Pegaso, Roberto and Antonella are simply the best. Speaking as an Italian American I can tell you they are everything I grew up with. Friendly and carring people who are genuinelyinterested that your experience with them is wonderful and memorable.

Antonella was a terrific host making sure we were well served and Roberto was always ready with a map to recommend a great resturant, or some other nearby attraction. Also, since my girlfriend must have her morning eggwhite omelette, Roberto was quick to prepare one with Italian perfection.

The condition of the house and of our room was perfect. Clean and well maintained. When we returned from our long day of site seeing, they made sure the heat was on in our room making it warm and inviting to sleep. Also, we found ourselves staying up late just chatting with them over coffee and Antonella's homemade liquors. Perfect ending to the day.

So, overall we had a terrific time at our first B&B thanks to wonderful people like Roberto and Antonella. We can't wait to return soon as they are the Essence of Italia !!

We spent 2 nights here for our 33rd wedding anniversary (10/06/12) and were treated like royalty. Roberto and Antonella spoiled us with a special anniversary dinner that Roberto prepared himself. With wine pairings and dessert, it was one of the most incredible meals we have ever had. They were very hospitable and engaging and spoke English very well. Breakfasts and espressos were also excellent. We already plan on going back and staying there again in the future and cannot recommend them enough. An absolute delight.

Room Tip: Had huge room overlooking the vineyards and it was very quiet

We had a wonderful stay at Pegaso Bed and Breakfast. The hosts are friendly, very helpful with travel advice (Sirmione on Lake Garda is a must) and gave us a fantastic local restaurant recommendation (Ristorante Santa Lucia). The surroundings are beautiful – in the midst of a kiwi orchard! Great breakfast with “the best espresso in Italy”! Large bedroom and bathroom. Easy access to Venice and Gardasee. Highly recommended!

No, not a dream, but a place we will always remember. In all our travels in Europe this was the nicest Bed and Breakfast where we have stayed. Not only very clean our room was large and comfortable. The house is decorated by Antonella and Robert with so many things they have aquired as "Travelers". We felt very much at home and enjoyed sharing stories about our travels. Our breakfast was very good, especially with the mufins and bread homemade by Antonella. The biggest mistake we made was eating in restaurants the first two nights while there. Our last night we had a gourmet meal, prepared by former chef Roberto. It was so delicious we wished we had eaten there every night. Please, if you want to visit Verona, Borgetto and Lake Garda stay at Pegaso. It will be the highlight of your trip.

Three nights and three culinary experiences with Roberto and Antonella was one of thehighlights of our month in Italy! The spaciouness of the rooms and the authentic 1700's interior architecture give an ambience that transports you away from the mundane. Our hosts treated us as part of the family and gave good advice on places of local interest. Verona is less than half an hour away and the Arena di Verona in the heart of the city is a reminder of Roman influence alive and well two thousand years later. Walking along a street of marble and finding Juliet's balcony make a visit to Verona a romantic one.Lake del Garda is about ten minutes away and there you can find peaceful swans waiting to be fed. A stay at Pegaso B&B without any of the nearby attractions would be rewarding. We were two couples from Australia and enjoyed stories of travels with Roberta and Antonella who are bilingual and well travelled and have seen more of Australia than we have. A great experience with great people!

We have worked and holidayed in many countries, but Pegaso has a charm and many qualities that you will not find anywhere else. When we booked (summer 2011) I must confess that I was expecting only the average experience. The welcome we received from Antonella and Roberto quickly dispelled that. They made us feel as if we had known them for years, were a fund of local knowledge, and absolutely nothing was too much trouble. Twice we had difficulty finding our way to them and twice Roberto dropped what he was doing to jump on his moped, come find us and guide us home. Also, once we experienced a Pegaso dinner, we didn't want to eat anywhere else. Antonella was keen to point out that Pegaso is not a hotel, but we have stayed in hotels offering less. Our week was too short and absolutely brilliant! A quiet and restful location which is a good jumping-off point for many excursions. Very highly recommended and without any reservations - book today!

Room Tip: We are not fans of air conditioning so did not miss it. We slept very comfortably with just a ceilin...

This is a lovely farmhouse in the middle of farm country, very close to Lago del Garda and the Verona area. Our hosts, Antonella and Roberto, have traveled extensively, so know what it takes to make one feel at home. In addition, Roberto is an excellent cook, and we were fortunate to experience two dinners at Pegaso. They also have a variety of local wines to choose from, which were very reasonable. An overall wonderful experience.

Room Tip: We were on the 3rd floor with a great view of the mountains, especially in the morning light.
