I love this place, but it saddens me to see it not serviced to its full potential. I think that trying to ride off a 2006 tourism award is wearing a little thin in 2013.
Beware if you are thinking about staying in and cooking, the kitchen is equipped with what I can only think is a supply of utensils from a discount warehouse or op shop. No knives are sharp enough to cut a tomato, but the cheap tongs are sharp enough to sever a finger. The toaster has to be a lawsuit waiting to happen. The cushions and curtains are tired, old and dirty and the BBQ and oven could do with a good clean.
This place is not worth the per night price when you add the extra $50 per person for anyone over 2 people. The operators need to regroup and put a bit of care and love back into this heritage gem.
You have the best location in the world and it feels like its run by a welfare organisation. I wouldn't care if the price matched the offering.
