The 14 KM long Oirase Stream provides visitors a beautiful venue for walking particularly during autumn months. The views along the stream are breathtaking with colorful trees as background for photo-taking. Most visitors will not stroll along the whole stream because of time constraints. Hop on and off the bus along the stream might be an alternative to select the most beautiful sections for viewing but bear in mind to go through the time table for bus schedule. Highly recommended.
During Autumn, the path along this stream is transformed into a beautiful and colourful picture in every which way you turn! It is really a nature lovers paradise.
The path is very easy to walk, not much of up and down hill. There are more than 14 waterfalls along the whole stretch, everyone is unique, and every one gives you a different feeling of serenity! If you are going to stop for photography for every great scene you admire and / or soak in the sound of the water and breath in the fresher than fresh air, you probably have to spend more than 10 hours to complete the whole 14 Km! So, plan for more days here and take your time to stroll through.
There are public buses along the whole path running almost parallel to the stream so there are no worries of starting and ending anywhere along the way. One end of the stream ends in Lake Towada which is also very pretty but much more open.
Bear in mind that there are very few places along the way that has shops for you to stop for food so best to bring some snacks along if you plan to spend long hours there.
The beautiful Oirase Keiryu river which is great to go for an easy walk. The Autumn leaves color make the scenery look fantastic and peacefull. Wish to visit here again .....
We planned to visit the area with a full day plan, which turned out to be good planning. The whole stream is 14 KM long but most likely tourists will only pick their favourite spots and drive by and stop for a few photos. We chose to have a leisure walk to cover 7 KMs in 2 sessions, before and after lunch. The views are so memorable, and people take plenty of photos of teh streams, the leaves, the waterfalls, and selfies, etc. Worth to visit again in Summer time.
There is 13 kilometres of river with rapids, waterfalls and plenty of temperate rain forest.
It provides numerous opportunities to get that special digital image.
It can be busy but it still provides solitude for the walker.
The paths are easy to negotiate although good quality boots would be advisable.
Towada-Ko lake and Oirase mountain stream are one of the most beautiful place I think they are as Plitvice Lakes National Park in Croatia. You’d better to wear sports shoes and attire suitable for tracking.
