I had no idea what to expect, even after reading the reviews, but this was a lovely place. It is very traditional and gives you the sensation that you've gone back in time. We went during the winter and it was all covered in snow!! It was cold but amazing! A winter wonderland! The road on the way was a bit scary (specially with all the snow) but we took the shuttle there and back a few times and it turned out alright.
The onsen are delicious and even though it was cold during our visit, their oil heaters managed to warm us just fine. The room was even too hot sometimes, but it was just a matter of adjusting the heater.
The food is completely traditional! We arrived at the salon to eat and our food was already set on the table. I'm a very picky eater so I didn't like most of the stuff.... good thing they had a lot of rice! But if you like (traditional) japanese food and you have a bit appetite, you're in for a good meal!
As for outlets to charge your gadgets (more importantly, your camera's battery), there aren't many (and they tell you - only in japanese, no English - that there are none), but if you look you can find a few. I found outlets in the woman's bathroom but there are others. Just be discrete about it, if they don't tell you, it might be a bit frowned-upon (why no one knows) to charge your stuff around the place.
