“Lovely, so clean it sparkles!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 15, 2013

We were booked into here as part of a walking holiday. When we arrived we were asked o leave our boots in a special area which seems perfectly justified. The receptionist spoke excellent English, as did the one the following day. The art works although not to everyone's taste add a quirky something to the hotel. The room was very well appointed although it didn't have a good view (our travel firm keeping costs down!) The bathroom had a whirlpool bath and separate shower all of which seemed quite new. Downstairs in the lounge area there was complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits, very welcome after a walk. The breakfast had a very good choice of hot and cold dishes with a good choice of fresh fruit and several makes of yoghurt. The apple Danish pastry was great! The hotel also provided a picnic for us which again was of a very high standard. We were impressed.

This hotel is on the Catalonian coast of Spain. Room is average size in European standards. The continental breakfast is ample and a good start before a hike. The people working in the hotel are very friendly and helpful. They have tea and coffee in the sitting room, all day. Dinner in the hotel restaurant was delicious and they provided a nice selection of freshly caught fish. Wine with meals was provided as part of the dinner price. Elevators throughout. Spa services are available

After a long and tiring walk we arrived at this somewhat eccentric art festooned hotel. After being instructed to shed our walking boots for slippers we were permitted to access our lovely room with a nice view and a state of the art bathroom with a much appreciated whirlpool bath. Although the hotel does have a quite extraordinary dining room where delicious breakfasts are served you have a walk a few yards down the road to their restaurant for your evening meal. Excellent fish meals are served with friendly service and a free glass of Cava when we were there. Also appreciated the free tea, coffee and water in the lounge. Staff very helpful and contemplating a walk up to the Monastry were advised a taxi would be best and indeed proved to be so as it was enough of an an arduous walk down but a visit is a must to this charming UNESCO site and the views are lovely.(It's free for the over 65's!)

Room Tip: Upper floors are best otherwise you might be looking at adjoining blank walls

Lovely hotel. Beautiful art in rooms and in hallways. Staff is very friendly, and try their very best to make your stay pleasant - more not good in english, either knowledge in french, spanish or catalan is an advantage. Morning buffet is really nice and varied if you arrive before nine. Most get refilled. Nice sea view room and out door roof terrace.

Lived in top floor with great view over the bay. Could see a bit from bath too. Also get the pleasure of the sunsets. Nice jacuzzi in the room, a bit of bubbles for it would be great.

Aircon didn't work when we arrived, but was fixed next day. Same with tv - music.

Stayed here at start and end of a walking trip. The rooms on both nights were comfortable, clean, and perfectly adequate for our needs. We wanted to eat at the hotel's beachside restaurant but this seemed to be an usual request by the response. We had read the previous reviews about the management response to walking boots - but we found ourselves in a comical situation when we weren't even 'allowed' to carry our boots to our room in order to pack them in our cases for the journey home. Despite repeatedly explaining what we wanted to do the receptionist / manager insisted that we had to leave them in the 'boot room'. We ended up 'smuggling' them to our bedroom later in the evening. A rather rigid policy that seemed typical of the hotel.

Comfortable but strangely decorated room. No view and somewhat thin walls. Good breakfast, friendly staff, close to the beach (but not beach-front). The spa predominates the hotel. Overall, a nice place, but not a great value.

Even partial sea view would have been pushing it, this was a big let down when we arrived. We loved the jacuzzi but were not allowed to use it after 9pm. This strict noise reduction policy didn't seem to be very closely policed however, we were kept awake all night by a very noisy couple's activities in the next room.

At 220€ a night we expected a lot more.
