2 nights at this frank gehry masterpiece. interesting location adjacent to the small town of elciego. you need a car to max out your visit. the hotel is remarkable- from arrival to departure, a perfect stay. staff are warm and knowledgeable, with mostly good english (except for my masseuse, not so good, but an excellent massage nonetheless). had a larger room on a corner, so spacious and views of the town and the mountains which were great. every possible convenience in the rooms, including coffee maker and frig. good fast wifi. free tour of the winery was fascinating. facilities are fabulous. 6 star.

Room tip: mountain view rooms are preferred

Such a beautiful hotel and wonderful staff! A modern gem nestled in the vineyards. You never really tire of looking at the hotel, and every angle of it presents a wonderful juxtaposition of modern and old. The spaces are great, it's tranquil and one is very well taken care of here.

We have really enjoyed all of the spaces here, from the pool area to the library and a winery tour. Wonderful eating options here as well - from the restaurants (ate at both - amazing!), to the wine bar and even the wine shop snack options. Great wines, of course! Would highly recommend to anyone and would love to come again. Thank you to everyone here for making it such a wonderful stay!

What a fantastic hotel, the rooms were great, the bed and pillows so comfortable. The design of the exterior was stunning absolutely unique. Restaurant and bars were excellent, breakfast was a surprise every morning and delicious.
The grounds were breathtaking great to be amongst the vines , the spa and pool were great. We did the wine tour which was fascinating and very informative. Overall would highly recommend.

As you approach the glimmering building - your anticipation starts building up & on driving up to their entrance, the warm welcome & smiles from the bell boy is infectious. You know you are in for something special. The check in was flawless & we were made to feel special from the start. Our room (#14) in the main building was compact but had the most amazing views - right across to the village of Elciego & its church. The design of everything was obviously specially tailored to fit the unusual windows & the wonderful window seats which spread across the entire room length was great to laze around in while admiring the views. Lighting, sockets & all the other mod cons are there. The bathroom is nice too - separate bath & shower with Caudelie toiletries.

As hotel guests, you get a free winery tour (must reserve) & it was excellent. The spa in the building across was nice - heated pool, steam room, dry sauna & jacuzzi. Hotel guests can use the facilities free of charge. The massage was very good & the therapists are well trained. Overall nice but just a little lacking in the total experience (as a frequent spa fan - music, smells & a certain ambience was a little lacking relative to the spas in Asia or the branded spas like Givenchy or Clarins).

Service overall is very good - friendly & helpful from all staff. A smile was always present when we chatted to any staff member. On checking out - unfortunately forgot to check the safe (left passports etc behind) but the front reception were so helpful in tracing us down to our next stop in Lerma (luckily only 1.5 hrs away). Thank you Casilda for your prompt action! Whilst I accept full blame for not checking the safe before leaving - it is also perhaps the location of the safe that made me slip up. Usually located in the wardrobe where you will not miss it as you pack up your clothes - the safe in our room was located in the bedside cabinet furthest away from the door so you literally had to walk around the bed to gain access & its easy to forget! So a warning to future guests to ensure you check the safe before you check out!

Breakfast is very good & so are their restaurants. Their michelin star rated restaurant is superb. Things are a little pricey but it's something one shouldn't worry about as you are here for a special time! The views of the hotel are splendid from the vineyards & depending on time of day & sunlight - the building takes a life of its own! Ideally 3 nights is good to enjoy the hotel properly as well as explore the neighboring villages. Kudos to the entire team & thank you for making our stay so enjoyable. It was a truly special experience.

The architecture of this hotel is out-of-this-world dramatic, Frank Gehry at his best, a must-see. And the building really works as a 5 star hotel, superb internally and externally, everywhere you look there's something extraordinary to see. A pity the staff couldn't try a bit harder to match up to the property! Not interested in the guests, what I'd call a typical "European" attitude (think "Paris") - mostly we felt we were in their way. And when we had a problem in the restaurant and at check out we were made to feel it was our fault....not pleasant.

Room tip: Go for a village-view room in the spa wing, bigger and quieter.

Dear 1Cand1D,

Thank you very much for being our guest and for taking the time to post your feedback and impressions of your stay. Also I am very pleased with your wonderful comments about the building, I am very sorry that your impression about our team was less positive. Usually we are getting a excellent feedback and reviews about the service and the team, most of them are with the hotel since the very first day and they are nothing but friendly, caring and kind. My most sincere apologies if we did not meet your expectations and I would be very grateful if you could reach out to me directly and share details about your stay with me, so I can look into it.

Thank you very much and very best regards

Stefan Friedl
