This restaurant is local in the Hotel Marques de Riscal in Elciego, Spain, which is a small town in the middle of the Rioja regon. The hotel was designed by Gehry and is inspired by Guggenheim. It this wild looking building standing in the middle of a bunch of vineyards. If you want to get a close look at the building you mus have a reservation to eat here or be staying at the hotel. You can't just walk in and go see it. The entire property is gated and you must check in before being allowed to enter the property. There are also security guards so you can't just go wandering around. We went to the Bistro for lunch. There is also a nicer restaurant in the hotel but it is a little more expensive so we chose the Bistro. My boyfriend and I both chose the prix fix menu for around 45 Euros per person. This included a bottle of wine. The service was excellent and so was the food. We had a 5 course meal for lunch and we were there for 2 hours! We sat, talked, drank and enjoyed our food. My favorite was the first course which was a really good cheese with a crispy thin cracker drizzled in honey. It was sooo good! The main course I chose was a lamb cheek with a sweet apple sauce on it. It was also very good. The restaurant is on the second floor (which is a tall second floor), so when we were done eating we went out to the balcony to take pictures and get a beautiful look out into the Rioja region. This was definitely a highlight of our trip to the Rioja.
