“Absolutely perfect!”
Reviewed October 6, 2012

The Hotel is very new and modern. Rooms are large and clean. There was a refregirator, flat TV, in-built air condition , perfect bathroom, very wide twin beds and modern minimalistic room design. Rooms were cleaned every day , conditioner was ok, water presser in the shower sometimes jumped up-down, but it was not a very big minus. The Hotel was situated 2 min from the train station, the train connection was very good, although trains were sometimes late and could arrive to the wrong side of the train station. It took 15 minutes - 6 or 7 train stops to get tio the Plaza Cataluna. Trains are very air conditioned, not very crowded. You should watch carefully the train timetable - available in the hotel and internet, because some trains from Barcelona do not stop on this station. the name of teh station is Montacada Ripollet. There is a supermarket in the trade center complex near the hotel, it works till 21.15, and there are also some cafes nearby in the same complex - so it is not so necessary to take the breakfast which costs 10 euros. We stayed here for 3 nights, every day we left the hotel about 10.00 and came back with the one of the latest trains - from plaza cataluna take the train R3 destination Vic.Absolutely perfect for these money- 52 euros per night per number. The hotels in the center were from 100 euros per night and the costs of the train tickets are very low in Barcelona. You can buy 10-ride ticket and use it in the train, metro, tram and bus. Our train -metro - bus costs in 3 days very 20 euros for 2 pesons. So I recomend this hotel to all, exept thefamilies with the small children - it can be difficlut for them to stay all day outside without some resttime in the hotel, because when you leave this hotel you have to count that you are out for all the day till the evening .

Got charged nearly double ~ 100 euro for the first night because they were "nearly full"
Not much around (12km out of Barcelona). Double room: average, no bidet. Suite: Nice big bathroom with bidet & big spa (too bad staff couldn't tell us how to use it).
Hotel corridor carpets were filthy and these areas were hot because air-conditioning turned off. Outdoor pool on rooftop was very nice however the decking was very loose and a bit unsafe. Train station was close by and within walking distance.

We stayed here for five nights and had a truly brilliant experience. We got a great deal and can only presume it is because of the location. With regard to location, we realized it wasn't going to be right in central Barcelona and therefore we weren't disappointed. The train, which is punctual and frequent is the best way in and out of Barcelona. The nearest station (Moncada Rippolet) is literally about a 3-4minute walk and takes you right into the main stations. (We got T10 tickets which are really good value for money). Although after 12am the train stops so remember to take the address of the hotel for taxi drivers.
The hotel itself definitely deserves its four stars. The rooms were clean and fresh everyday. The pool on the roof is also a great added bonus. There was a great selection on offer at breakfast which really did set you up for the day! Staff were extremely helpful, especially the man on reception at night time, they couldn't do enough for you!
Overall, we had a great experience at this hotel. If you don't mind a fifteen minute train journey into central Barcelona we would definitely recommend it:)

Clean, friendly, cheap, convenient, quiet, what more is there to say? All those reviews who complain about the location seem to forget that if staying at a hotel in "central Barcelona" you would probably have to travel by metro to their hotel anyway. The metros are hot, noisy, dirty and crowded, this little local train was cool, clean and efficient and the fare is covered by a normal zone one ticket. Furthermore, all of our trains were on time to the second. Not suitable if you want to stay out past midnight, but other than that perfect. We shall most definitely be returning, and not just for the phenomenal ham baguettes in the cafe near the hotel.

After a long afternoon trying to find the hotel as we went to the wrong station first we eventually took a taxi and once there found that hotel was very good and more than we expected as we had purchased 2 nights b&b at avery reasonable price. As it turned out the station was only 4or 5 minutes walk away and would have saved us a lot of time if we knew which one we needed. I would recomend this hotel, it is about 15 minute train ride from centre of Barcelona you need Montcada Ripollet station and easy to find once you know the right station. There is a very good well stocked supermarket close by, but no good restaurants only a fast food place which we used on our first night and it was ok and suited our needs, threre was also another cafe/bar which we never used. There is a small rooftop pool in the hotel which was nice but not enough sunbeds.
We found the hotel staff very helpful and polite. The restaurant in the hotel had a very limited menu but the breakfast was good with plenty of choice.
I would advice anyone wishing to visit Sagrada de Familia to book there tickets online. We went there on the sightseeing hop on hop off bus and found the queue to be horrendous, an english couple passing us suggested booking online as there is no queue. We continued on the sightseeing bus around the city and when we returned to our hotel we booked online (a little bit more expensive as there is a booking fee but worth it) and visited the next day, no queueing they just scan your ticket (which is sent to your e-mail and then you can print it ) and in you go, so much easier.
I know you here about pickpockets and we had been warned before we left, but i am just warning everyone to be aware of this, my friend had her purse lifted in the tourist info place in placa de cataluna someone asked her where she got her map and on reflection later we think that was the distraction SO BE VIGILANT.
We had a good time and woud recomend Barcelona and this hotel if you don't want to pay central hotel prices.

best hotel i've ever been to, we had the junior suite with a massive bath room with a big jiacuzzi and huge shower. tv satelittle and free wifi where available, our stay was very comfortable and felt home very easily with individual slippers and gowns.
staff was very helpfull and speak english very well, helped us around very much given the language barrier. maids cleaned perfectly everyday leaving the room always fresh n spotless , simply perfect after a long hours of sightseeing and clubbing. train station 2 minutes away. always take card with hotel address as not many taxis know how to get there.

Room Tip: we suggest the junior suites

Hotel very nice, 4* for sure, receptionists speak english and are very polite, it's a bit annoying to use the chip card in the elevator but it's for safety i guess, rooms nice and clean, good AC, windows don't open, a bit annoying when maids spray rooms with too much of freshener, but it's bearable, no real quilts, but sheets and blankets, but i met with this on Madeira too, so it's probably their habit, bathroom nice and quite spacious, i had a nice shower in room, sometimes it gets crazy, water is hot and cold all the time, but then it got kinda fixed i guess, they give some mini cosmetics, few towels - changed every day, pool is small but nice, hardly warm during cooler days, hotel is in the middle of some rat hole, it's totally hard to find it because barcelona roads are total spaghetti, but in montcada there are lots of signs to the hotel, parking 10€ a day, so it's better to park on the street, do not EVER leave anything in the car to be seen, someone broke into my car, broke the small window and stole backpack, always be careful, Barcelona is really a capital of THIEVES, breakfasts in the hotel are nice, but the same all the time, so i recommend going to cafe Viena, practically near the hotel, i didn't buy the breakfasts online, and i think i paid much less paying for them checking out. it's one of the best hotels i've ever been to, you won't find anything better for this price near barcelona, hotels of this standard can be even twice or 3 times as expensive in the center. when you know the roads the way to the center is maybe 10-15 minutes by car. also be careful with rental companies, they hardly speak english, and want to cheat on every tourist, there's also a very poor cuisine in Barcelona, mostly fancy sancwiches and fast foods, and salads, all the same, it's hard to find pasta or good piece of meat, even in Mc you might not find anyone speaking english, it's very easy to get an impression that spanish ppl aren't very smart...

if you look for cheap vacation, barcelona isn't for you, i recommend searching for some other destination, especially when barcelona beaches are quite dirty and ugly and full of stones. it's not such a wonderful city either, Vienna or Prague amazed me much more, few places are worth seeing though.
