Very disappointing we had booked for a wine tasting about a month prior and when we got there we were told sorry you can see how busy we are the person should not have taken your booking, so we said we booked a month ago for 13 people they were not interested, luckily we had also booked a table at the restaurant and then asked the manager seen that they had made the error could we wine taste at the restaurant they eventually agreed and made an exception. THE RESTAURANT WAS VERY NICE WAITER WAS VERY FRIENDLY AND ON THE BALL WILL DEFINITELY GO BACK THERE AGAIN.

Thank you for visiting the Meerendal tasting room. We regret not being able to attend to your group the way we would have liked during that weekend of the Season of Sauvignon Blanc. We would really appreciate it if you would visit us again. We will do our best to ensure that your expectations are met this time.
Best Regards Meerendal Management

Unconventional choice for a honeymoon I suppose. It was dead in winter but much enjoyable. During our stay at the hotel , breakfast was free and the hotel service was welcoming. Other restaurants nearby too with activities to do such as horseback riding , picnics and wine tasting

We found the Meerendal Wine Tasting facility to be sparsely decorated, but the staff where friendly and continually came to make sure everything was ok. They even went to Carlucci's (a restaurant on site) and ordered us a Carlucci's Board for 2 which went down a treat!

Sharing the Wine Tasting premises is Durbanville Gin Distillery. The owners are there to take you through there processes and also do the Gin tasting personally. It's lovely to actually witness the process right in front of your eyes.

Certainly both are a must do if you in the area... but I do recommend the Carlucci's Meat and Cheese Board for 2 to go with the tastings.

Had a romantic wedding anniversary dinner at The Crown Restaurant on Meerendal wine estate. The decor is classy and beautiful. I spent a long time just looking at everything. The attention to detail is evident. Driving down to the restaurant on Meerendal estate, the views of the vineyards and the Boland mountains are magical epecially as the sun sets. Lots of safe parking is available. The service was very good. Super friendly staff and obviously a brilliant chef/s!! Our starters were awesome and the pork belly mains was unbelievable. Desserts were just as good. The presentation was so lovely. The menu is limited but what was served was extremely good. Priced affordable to expensive. Our meal was well worth the money we paid. There is a R45 corkage fee but looking at the wine list the prices were standard with other smart restaurants. I can recommend this restaurant. The atmosphere was romantic. A fire was burning which created a lovely warm glow. Well done to all at The Crown.

I recently did the Park Run at Meerendal and had some breakfast with friends after. We found the most beautiful art gallery on the premises by chance and stayed to taste some wine. The people are so friendly, service is great and there's even a playground for kids. Loved it and can highly recommend this to anyone - if you're looking for a relaxed lunch and wine tasting, or just feel like a fun outing with the family !
