Reviewed March 25, 2013

We stayed here for three nights on our way back to Antalya airport and were not disappointed. Whilst the rooms are very simple and the bathrooms small, the beds are comfortable and everything is kept spotlessly clean. What really makes staying here so wonderful is the Turkish hospitality provided by James and his team, the fantastic food (the Wednesday BBQ is certainly to be recommended!) and the restaurant/lounge consisting of individual tables and cushioned areas situated in the middle of the shallow crystal-clear river. The hotel's situation offers tranquility, shade from the heat of the sun and a variety of wildlife (birds, dragonflies, freshwater crabs and a whole host of ducks demanding their share of your food.) And of course the river area is magically lit at night.

Five minutes' walk away is the beautiful bay of Adrasan. The beach itself is stony rather than pebbly (those with delicate feet would benefit from "rock shoes") and slopes quite sharply once you're in the water. However when we were there the bay was like a millpond and we enjoyed floating in the water looking at the breath-taking mountains behind. Even in September the water was really warm.

Adrasan itself is very unspoiled and consists mainly of small hotels laid back from the beach and up the river. Nightlife/noise is more or less non-existent. We had hired a car and enjoyed driving over to Cirali - the next bay along, but involving a climb back up the mountain to the D400 followed by a long descent. However there seems to be a regular dolmus service enabling you to access the ATM up on the D400. However I've heard that James or one of his brothers may be up to taking you sight-seeing by car. Shopping is very limited unless you go to Kumluca.

So if you want somewhere unspoilt and peaceful, with stunning scenery and and a warm welcome, this is the place for you. We would certainly hope to return.

This family-run hotel is the perfect base if you want to explore the Lycean coast, eg by hired car. The hotel is on the river bank, and the restaurant tables are on rustic platforms built out into the river. The food is prepared in a wood-fired brick oven, and is all excellent. Nothing is too much trouble, and staff are friendly and informal, making you feel almost part of the family. You can spend ages watching the river life, ducks, fish, frogs, kingfishers, crabs and more. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with a/c. Not luxury, but you wouldn't come here for that!

We stayed at Arikanda River Hotel in September 2012 and what a gorgeous place to find ourselves. We arrived late at night and were relieved to find a big comfy bed in a gorgeous super-clean room with en-suite and tea making facilities. The rooms are really homely with colourful rugs and bedding. French doors with pretty curtains lead to a small balcony with a table and chairs overlooking the lovely river. We woke up to tremendous mountain views (although I’m not sure that is possible from every room) and at night there is the gorgeous, pungent smell of Jasmine in the air. Interesting plants and herbs are dotted about everywhere. If you’re looking for some rest & relaxation, beautiful scenery/beaches, boat trips, REALLY DELICIOUS food and a little slice of Turkish paradise – you need look no further. I can’t imagine anyone being disappointed with this hotel. We thought there might be a problem with creepy crawlies and mozzys with the hotel being on the river but we didn’t see one bug. The river is a fantastic place to have the restaurant as there is a cool breeze which really does offer some relief from the baking Turkish sun. As everyone else has said, nothing seems to be too much trouble for James and his team and almost anything is possible. James organised our airport transfers, a boat trip and other taxi journeys that we needed to make. Who needs a tour company when the service is this good??? All the staff are amazingly organised and really work hard to make sure everyone is made to feel welcome and looked after. There is a great buzz about the place, especially in the restaurant where locals and international visitors all come to sample the delicious food which has earned itself a really exceptional reputation. Big thanks to James, Vahit, Bajram and Mehmet for their super-duper service but also to the rest of the family. It is interesting to see that reviewers from years back tell a similar story. Great to see a small hotel maintaining such high standards but also remaining quirky and affordable with bags of personality which really make it stand out from the crowd.

We spent a week with James, Vahit and the boys and have returned relaxed and well fed! We went half board which was excellent value. Nothing was too much trouble. The rooms are spacious and clean - the place is rustic but that is its charm. Sitting (or reclining on the turkish cushions) by the river watching the ducks and kingfishers is wonderfully relaxing (although the beach is only 3 minutes away if you want the med). The food is delicious too. A delightful part of Turkey. Not on a bus route and we didn't feel confident enough to hire a car but lifts at reasonable prices can usually be arranged.

We intended to stay just one night and stayed for three. I would have happily stayed for much longer. A perfect place to stay as a family, it was so relaxed, everyone was so friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious, the rooms had everything we needed. I echo what many previous reviews have mentioned about the amazing life in the river and know that someday I would love to return.

This hotel and restaurant is a real slice of heaven. The rooms are large for Turkey, clean and with large double beds. Also a nice touch is the tea-making facilities. All have a balcony overlooking the river and mountains. The river is an entertainment on its own with fish, eels, terrapins, ducks and kingfishers surrounded by flowers. The restaurant sits on platforms over the river and a cooling breeze blows along it.
The staff are very friendly, efficient and obliging. The food from Fells' kitchen is the best Iv,e had in Turkey( and this was my 46 th visit) and be warned, the portions are big.
We did the boat trip to Water Island which was a great day out, the beach there is pure white and the water crystal clear, all organised by the staff at the Arikanda, and the baot captain coms to pick you up. We had an amazing time there and will be back in September. Can,t recommend it highly enough.

This was our first time to Adrasan and Arikanda Hotel. From the moment we arrived until we left James, Felemez and all the boys, Byron and his birds! We had the most fantsastic time, hospitaility was second to none, a very warm and rustic place to stay. The food every day was superb, excellent quality throughout the week. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the aircondtioning very useful!

We will be coming back again, for a chilled out, relaxing fun time again soon
