Description: We are in the medieval village of Paciano, awarded by the European Union as "Ideal Village" and included in "most beautiful villages in Italy". The restaurant, recently fully renovated, has a roof garden with views of the Umbrian hills and Lake Trasimeno. The kitchen uses the best raw materials offered by the region of Umbria, used to make dishes always the result of study and research. All the pasta and desserts are homemade. The cellar is stocked with an interesting selection of wines from Umbria and Tuscany personally selected by the sommelier.

The restaurant was simply decorated and had a lovely atmosphere. The man who showed us to our table (the owner?) was also our waiter and server. He was very friendly and spoke English to us. He gave us a flute of prosecco and a basket of bread right away. Both were delicious. We only had salad and pizza, but they were very good.
We completely enjoyed our meal and time there.

By coincidence we stumbled upon la Logetta when we were searching for a restaurant in the area. The restaurant itself is tiny but very nice and offers a good view over the little town and hills.

The owner Maurizio and his wife are running the restaurant and it could not be run better than by these two. While his wife is the chef, Maurizio is the waiter although he is also preparing some wonderful deserts (the Tiramisu and the peach-amaretto tart with the hazelnut icecream which are both reason enough to travel from far to this restaurant).

The menu is small but every dish is prepared with fresh, local ingridients with a lot of passion. The wine menu is very good, even the cheaper local house wine is already a very good choice for every dish.

The foccacia brought before starters is to kneel down. With a bottle of red wine it would already make a great evening! We were already half full before the main course because we couldn't stop eating this great little treat.

Our favorites were the unbelievable fresh and thin pizza, where you could taste every ingridient. But the fresh, handmade pasta, especially the cacio e pepe was unbelievable good next to a lot of other great dishes.

We have eaten in so many fancy one and two star restaurants all over Europe but never have I enjoyed great, simple, fresh food as here in La Logetta. This was also the reason, why were eating only small snacks for lunch when we were traveling around the area but were back every single evening for 10 days.

We will be back this year and we can't wait! So if you are in the area, don't miss out one of the best restaurants in the whole area!

Greetings from Marleen, Johann & Jordi the boxer

We dined at La Loggetta several times during a two week stay in Paciano in late August - early September. The dining terrace overlooks a valley with Lake Trasimeno in the distance. The host and owner is friendly and worked well with our minimal Italian language skills. The menu was quite varied and it all tasted great! I especially recall a fried cod appetizer - perfect prep and presentation. Wine selection is fine, and the house wine was good. We had a toddler with us and it all went well!

The view is the first thing that grabs you. The perfect environment was followed by a fabulous meal with distinctly Umbrian flavours, including a fabulous wild boar ragu pasta and hunter style rabbit. It was a real pleasure to find a restaurant prepared to experiment with flavours rather than stick to the mundane and predictable lists seen in so many places in Italy.
