“Spa break without the spa!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 22, 2013

I booked two rooms here for myself and my friend so we could have a spa weekend. As my friend is pregnant I decided against booking a spa package so I booked the rooms (on a non refundable rate) and then called the hotel to book the treatments we wanted. Unfortunately the spa was fully booked and then obviously I couldn't cancel the rooms so we were stuck on a spa break with no spa. All my own fault.

In the end we actually spent the day in Leamington Spa which is about 25 mins away and had treatments there before going to the hotel and using the pool etc. I felt the pool and changing rooms could have done with a good clean to be honest but we were there late in the day and the hotel was fully booked.

The hotel itself is very nice, clean and tidy. Unfortunately someone, in their infinite wisdom gave us rooms at the opposite ends of the hotel even though I booked and paid for both rooms on the same booking.

We went to a fairly local TGI Fridays for dinner. Even though the hotel was full with a wedding party neither of us experienced any noise with guests returning to their rooms late.

The room itself was clean and well equipped. The double bed was two singles bolted together which creates a very uncomfortable seam down the middle. Why can't they put a mattress topper over the top?!

Breakfast was plentiful with a good fresh selection. Overall this hotel was excellent value for money £60 B&B. I would stay again.

I have just returned from a spa package at the Brandon Hall Hotel. It was excellent value for money!. It was also a rare change to receive such great customer service.Well done! All the staff were brilliant. There was plenty of choice from the menu and although we were on a package deal the food and choice of food was excellent. The bedrooms were clean and very comfortable. I would certainly go back again.

my second stay in this hotel for two weeks. Compared with the last one, service quality has deteriorated. Rooms are ok, well equipped and with a desk for working, which is important for frequent travellers and workers. Restaurant food and choice is average and quite expensive, compared to other ones nearby.
Service quality was not that good, it took one week until my booking was finally confirmed. Hotel was sold out in a two-weeks period, and even though requested, we were not informed that there were free rooms, so we had to check out & in again on the same day. Besides that, I am still kept in their system as Miss, but not Mister (although promised to be changed immediately). Compared to other hotels there is room for improvement. Not sure if I will come back next time.

Dear Elmar S,
Thank you for your comments, I can assure you that the matter is being looked into and will be dealt with accordingly. As discussed, it was a little unfortunate that our IT software change over during your stay caused some issues regarding your booking. I am very pleased that we were able to make room in the hotel so that you were able to return. I will of course follow up on the other issues you have noted, and am very disappointed that you feel the service has deteriorated.
Kind regards,
Michael Stenson

This traditional country house style hotel, situated in extensive grounds in the village of Brandon on the outskirts of Coventry, First impressions is of a nicely decorated hotel, well furnished in keeping with the style and character of the hotel, approached down a tree lined drive with generous parking. We had room 62 on the first floor at the front of the hotel, a generously sized room with 4 poster bed well furnished and with a large bay window overlooking the grounds. The bed was comfortable, but for our preference the bed was a little on the soft side. Well equipped bathroom, clean and well decorated. Hot water a little slow to arrive, and rather weak water flow in the shower.

Ate in the hotel for both dinner and breakfast and both were excellent. There was an extensive choice at dinner, all good quality food, nicely cooked and very well presented with in our case both courses looking very appetising, served by friendly professional staff. There was a variety of options from set meal with different wines at each course, set menu without inclusive wines, and a la carte with wide choice of dishes, all offered at very competitive prices.Breakfast again earned full marks. A full, well stocked hot and cold buffet catering for all tastes had been carefully prepared and was very well presented

Good size rooms very comfortable. TV limited to terrestrial channels,
Food very good 5 course meal with three glasses of wine for £31 excellent value. Good gymnasium and pool.
No phone reception for Three users not sure about other networks. Free internet connection but poor signal throughout hotel as access kept being lost.
Good staff very helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay here again.
Also about 1/2 mile from a golf course.

Lovely grounds, nice, comfortable rooms and excellent swimming pool. Despite the arrival of a Japanese tour group and a large wedding party the staff found the time to be very helpful to my in-laws and went out of their way to ensure they were looked after. Our only negative was that the barman had muddled up some of the drinks and snacks, which took a while to put right at checkout. Having said that, the receptionist who had to sort this out for not just us, but a for a number of other couples, was superb.
