We stayed here for 5 nights in January with our children 4 and 8, I really dont know where to begin about how special this lodge is. The decor is really stylish, unique and fun, the food is out of this world, the breakfast was simply amazing, I am still tasting the lemon muffins! But it is the staff that really make this place special, nothing was ever too much trouble - a few small examples, it was cold at night whilst we were there and my little girl wanted a hot water bottle, one promptly arrived in a cute little dog case and then just arrived for the next 4 nights at the same time without being asked, we went out on a day trip one day and found they had washed our car! Really small things but very thoughtful. One of the sisters who owns the hotel takes the time every morning to speak with every guest at breakfast and make suggestions for day trips etc - I could write on and on about this lodge, seriously do not hesitate in booking here - you will have a really memorable experience - as we did. The only downside was we spent the rest of our holiday missing Lairds Lodge as no where else was as good!

This is a fantastic place... The ambience, the staff, the dinner (and breakfast) was truly outstanding. If I had a gripe.. and it's only a minor one, it would be that when it rains... it's like a snare drum beating on your roof (room 10 on 3-Jan). But, some ear plugs and all was kind of ok!
I will most definitely return. 5*

Room Tip: If it's raining, maybe avoid the little cottages as they have tim roofs. Otherwise, they are gorgeous suites.

This place I will remember when I am old. Simply first class. The most amazing place to enjoy with people. The staff are great and the food is worth staying there alone for. It's so easy to interact with other guests, it makes yep the experience unforgettable. I will for sure be back.

Room Tip: Even standard rooms are large with lots of space.

Husband and I stayed here over New Year with our grown children. We were on a 2 week self drive from Cape Town eastwards. We spent 3 nights at Lairds Lodge. It was delightful.

The staff is charming and very helpful. Our rooms (12 and 18) were very nicely appointed with extremely comfortable beds, lovely bed linen and super bathrooms. We had little patios looking out onto a pond and a flower bed with enough agapanthus to attract the beautiful sunbirds.

On New Year's eve we enjoyed a concert by a local township choir and a really good meal on a big table with other guests, which we really enjoyed. The hotel made the New Year very special.

The lodge is located just a few minutes from Plettenberg Bay, and is very convenient for activities in the area. Across the street is an elephant sanctuary.

A true family-run hotel. We regularly saw two of the three sisters running the hotel who couldn't have done more to make it memorable and more comfortable. We adored it and rate it 11 out of 10. Being a one-off hotel meant it was truly unique. The food (we are veggies) was superb and imaginative and very reasonably priced. The gardens were inspirational and creative. A fabulous place to stay.
