“Great start to the day”
Reviewed January 28, 2013

We found this place by accident and just came across it, we decided to give it a go.

We arrived and found a table outside on the deck, perfect!!

They had a large function in on the day that we were there but the service and time for food prep after the order were great!!

would definitely go again

“Love Gazing across Port Philip Bat while enjoying Great food and coffee”
Reviewed December 31, 2012

I have been coming to this location since 1985. Its now called the Sandbar Beach cafe and its even better. The great breakfasts, I cant decide which i like better the beach brekky, avocado on toast or the scrambled eggs with goats cheese and sundried tomatoes... either way, its always delicious. the coffee is consistently excellent and the welcome smile from the staff are as bright as the Melbourne sunshine, on a good day. I love meeting friends here and sometimes I enjoy being alone and reminiscing. A trip to Melbourne is incomplete without visiting the Sandbar Beach Cafe.

“Looks great and is welcoming, but the food!”

Simple menu but even the burger and chips were poor.
Some friendly staff.
Wish they would find a real cook!

“A delightful place to relax and chill out”
Reviewed October 26, 2012

This is a very individual restaurant for Brighton.

The menu is as large as is needed and includes some real gems - especially eating breakfast there.

The moroccan eggs show what can be done with a little inventiveness and a open mind for what the customers want.

Coffees are as good as expected.

Cakes are as usual in these places - a bit too enticing really.

The area outside is great for the kids as they can slip down on the sand when they have demolished their food.
