“Great value, but rough around the edges”
Reviewed April 12, 2013

Visited as part of a Majestic Holiday package, and it is superb value. Situated in a VERY quiet village on the banks of the Rhine, little to do here except enjoy walking along the river, take the ferry across to the bigger town on the opposite bank, and simply relax and enjoy the stunning scenery. Hotel itself is a mix of 2 or 3 buildings knocked together, set menus on the package deal, but we found that by slipping the landlady a few Euros, we could have steak every night (much to the chagrin of the others on the coach tour!)....Landlord is an extremely gregarious, and highly entertaining man, every night is party night, you will be exhausted ! Fabulous value, sleep quality could be better, as there are a lot of guests in a fairly small hotel......breakfast is usual continental, nothing special.

This hotel is an exellent hotel to stay in it is situated in the rhine valley ,Werner and his family can not do enough for you ,the food is plain and simple and delicious rooms are comfortable and spotlesss there are no lifts so if you have a disability you do need a ground floor as it is a lot of stairs to climb ONE PROBLEM WOULD NOT TRAVEL WITH MAJESTIC COACHES AGAIN unless they put on a decent coach to travel from the south west of england to germany other than that holiday was great

Room Tip: definately ground floor for those with disability

The rooms were freezing cold and the shower didn't work properly, the food was not very good, evening thou meals were included we ended up eating out at lunch time so we could get something good to eat. On the positive side the rooms were clean and the staff were very friendly.

Booked through Majestic. Air con broke and dripping on travellers. Coach drivers spoke to us like children. Told off for not getting cases on coach (5 feet away afrer lugging down stairs and steps from hotel!). Small loo long journey through Germany. Hotel miles from anywhere, 40 min walk to anything only 2 shops nearby. No choice of food at all, salad half a tom between 4, no bread allowed with soup, no water allowed with meals unless paid for. What an awful holiday, stopped off at duty free which was a tin shed, but only had 20 mins to inc a toilet break as 'stipulated and stressed' by drivers. Hotel on a hill and unsuitable for elderley people. AWFUL HOL!

I stayed here with a bus party (like the first two reviews) and thought the place was great value for the price. The owner loved Brits and speaks excellent English, the barmaid is English and everyone tries to ensure you have a good time. Werner puts on entertainment most nights he has a bus tour in, a bit too Blackpool for me, but most on our trip really enjoyed his 'party night'.

The downstairs is taken up completely by the bar and the breakfast room, upstairs is a labyrinth of floors, doors and corridors leading to various interconnecting mini-blocks or rooms in the main building. Everywhere was clean, tidy and neat.

The actual rooms were fine for three nights, enough space to walk around it and hang your stuff up. The shower and toilet worked fine and the cleaners kept everything in order.

Breakfast was better than I expected (we paid very little for this trip), tea or coffee, juices too. Self toasting machine, rolls, cheese, hams, etc. Cereals and milk, in other words a typical continental selection.

All in all a pleasant stay, no frills, but no problems either.
